I do not want to spoil any one''s fun and the various threads on here about players for next season are very interesting.

But and it is a very big BUT, it is very clear already that Paul Lambert has his own specific ideas about players.  None of the players he recruited was an obvious choice of picked up on this board.  The usual reaction was.....

Who???   folllowed by Why???

Yet he has already recruited Forster and Johnson who have exceeded expectations , Martin and McNamee who have held their own in the team and Rose and Elliot who have done a job.

So, there are three conclusions.

1)   He is not going for obvious or even known choices despite what we and even Smudger tell him

2)   Just as with those six, none of us will see them coming in any sense of the phrase

3)   Whoever he signs will at least do the job and may be an absolute gem..... even if we have haven''t heard of them or considered them possibilities on here.

So by all means speculate but prepare to be surprised and pleased (and in Smudger''s case disappointed).
