New Scout for us

Recommended Posts

Delia just said

Delia Smith:

Hi Keiran, with Paul and his team, and the squad we will assemble for next year all I can say is we are going to go for it - and with player recruitment being a key part of that, we''re hoping to have some exciting news regarding the appointment of a Chief Scout shortly - watch this space!

Thursday April 22, 2010 1:14 Delia Smith

So who would you like to see as our chief scout and who do you realistically think it will be?

I was cringing and laughing a bit when I saw this question hahaha

[Comment From Darren Darren : ]
Why don''t you sell the Club and let someone who actually really supports the Club take over rather than someone from Suffolk who was pictured in 1978 wearing an Ipswich ccarf at a cup final at Wembley?

Hahaha her reply [:D]

Hi Darren, yawn yawn! We''ve said it before but let''s just trot it out one more time I was NOT at Wembley! I was working for Multi-coloured Swap Shop and the joke was my rosette and hat were turned round to reveal the Norwich colours amidst very loud booing as we were filming in Christchurch Park, Ipswich. Meanwhile I''d like to thank all Canary fans who live in Norfolk, Suffolk, all around the country and indeed, all around the world.

Delia Smith:
Thank you so much for your question Daniel, because it gives us a chance to thank all the supporters who did not ask for a rebate and Michael Foulger, who matched that generosity so that we were able to sign Grant Holt. Grant, like the rest of the team, has had a great season and we are delighted to confirm that he is on a long-term contract and he is really happy living and working in Norfolk.
What did you ask Morty?
Well, I recently spent 90 quid on new shirts for me and my two lads, and although I accept I should have looked closer at the small print, I don''t think that the fact this shirt is only for one season was particularly well emphasised.I asked about it in the club shop yesterday and we are falling in line with other clubs in now changing our shirt every year, despite it being stated in the fans charter that it would be two yearly, the same fans charter that has disappeared from the official site. When I asked in the club shop the woman looked a bit sheepish as if I''m not the first to ask.If they seriously think I''m going to spend all that money every season then they are sorely mistaken!

I didn''t realise the charter had disappeared from the official site. I don''t remember but was the charter drawn up with the now defunct SCG? There have been a lot of changes this season that effect the fans. There have been a few grumblings like when the evening reserve games were cancelled. But I guess success on the pitch is the spoon full of sugar that helps the medicine go down.

Which is why we don''t always buy new shirts.  But have done so in the past and learned to wait a while and find out how long they are around for before buying.
In recent years they have kept every shirt two years, changing the home and away on alternate seasons, apart from once when there was a change of sponsor when they offered people a trade in on a new shirt. Whilst I accept this is my own fault for not reading the small print properly, I don''t think they have exactly gone out of their way to inform either.

Yes I think this ones only for a year as maybe there''s a new sponsor on the way?  Who knows but you are right they didn''t inform people as much as they probably could have done.

Isn''t it only a one-yearer as our deal with Xara expires next year?

I thought this was mentioned on the official site when the shirt was launched? Don''t worry thought, the shirt will last more than a year and I''m sure you won''t be the only one wearing it the season after next, although I''m not going to get this one as the colour is a little nasty in my opinion.

As far as I''ve worked out, it''s only for this season because that will bring us up to the end of our current Xara deal- new supplier coming up? Xara yet to strike the next deal with us? Might be a bit naive for me to think that and could well be because we''re trying to Premiershipise our release of new kits by making it yearly.

Who knows these days [:)]
I don''t know, but they do normally bend over backwards to be uber customer friendly. I probably would have bought the shirts anyway, I''m not just bumping my gums about that.

I am all for maximizing profit which will ultimately be pumped back into the team and benefit us all, and if we are going to change our shirt every season then so be it. But I am sure every parent will let out a collective groan at this decision.[:D]

Nutty there is nothing sinister with regard to the charter disappearing from the club website. It is currently being updated and it was in fact me who in a roundabout way caused its current demise as i pointed out to Joe Ferrari it contained no fewer than eighteen references to the now defunct SCG.
