Cantley 0 Posted November 30, 2004 I think it was Look East''s coverage of Geoffrey Watling''s memorial service. Looked like an overwhelmingly poignant occasion, but what really brought a lump to my throat was the short interview with (Oh captain my captain) Ron Saunders. His tough, sardonic exterior dropped away and he had a real cry in his voice as he described Watling as a true gentleman. Lovely to see Ron again, looking well (in fact almost unchanged!), and a revelation to find out just what a high opinion he had of Watling.
Arganth 0 Posted November 30, 2004 Agreed. It seemed a very poignant event. Just hope they didn''t make Terry Alcock walk all the way from Carrow Road to Colegate at his age! What you doing on here anyway ? Taking a break from the ''grumpy old men'' forum ?
