Espanyol goalkeeper Erwin Lemmens has been linked with a transfer window move to The Premiership.

Sources in Spain claim that two English sides, believed to be Southampton and Norwich, are monitoring the 28-year-old and could move for him in January.

The Belgian has fallen out of the first-team picture with the Primera outfit following the arrival of Cameroon international Carlos Kameni.

Kameni, who joined in the summer from Le Havre, has been in scintillating form this term and has made the number one jersey his own.

Indeed, his displays have attracted the interest of Manchester United who are believed to have already made a firm approach to the player.

Lemmens has grown frustrated at his lack of opportunities and his agents are understood to have started making enquiries to find him a new club.

The custodian has also lost in place in the Belgium international set-up with Silvio Proto, Tristan Peersman and Frederic Herpoel all now ahead of him in the pecking order.

Espanyol insist they have not received any approaches for Lemmens whose contract at Estadi Olimpico de Montjuic expires at the end of the season.

It is thought Southampton are Norwich are both trailing the Espanyol man in the event that either team should lose their first-choice keepers, Antti Niemi or Robert Green, during the winter transfer window.
