Peter 0 Posted December 6, 2004 Before Saturday''s game Worthy stated the aim was to get 20 points by the end of the Xmas period.Well that was good psychology Nige, should really have waited until after Saturday''s limp performance. Still need just 8 points from 4 easy fixtures.Lower your sights a little 15 would be nice, 13 aiming high, 12 more realistic, just hope Albion don''t pick up a win before Xmas.Another managerial masterstroke from the hapless Worthy, stick to falling out with your players, its what you''re best at. bananaman 0 Posted December 6, 2004 Oooooooohhh, get you!!!Worthy isn''t good enough tactically, that''s obvious. Why not just stick to footballing matters when it comes to criticism, rather than just sniping at the side of management that is the least important!? Who cares what he said or who he falls out with - it''s when the players CANNOT make a succesful pass that I start to get concerned!
ZLF 271 Posted December 6, 2004 Worthy is fair game for criticism as much as the players as his tactics and selctions have been too blinkered, and the players passing and desire to defend so deep comes from the training ground as much as anything else.Worthy set the target before the Fulham game so 18 points would have been a realistic target, now it seems impossible. We will pick up some draws and get a couple of shock results but its not goings to be 6 more points before we play the hammers. As I have said we have a squad, incl management, that is not truly prem class, yet somehow we are still in with a chance of surviving. At this stage that is what we want. To be honest some of our performances mean we should be well adrift at the bottom - enjoy the fact we are not - worthy & the players deserve credit for that stickability.OTBCOTBC
nolegs 0 Posted December 6, 2004 Worthy also has an alternative set of targets1.teach Svennson to jump higher than a Rizla.2.teach Bentley to actually look interested.3.teach Helveg to pass to someone wearing yellow4.teach Jonnson that Horlicks isn''t a pre-match stimulant.5.teach Hux that once he''s beaten every player on the field he can look up and pass to someone else.6.teach the whole team that a game of football actually lasts approx 90 mins and would be helpfull if they played for the same amount of time.
