Swindon beating Southampton...could be tricky weekend?

Recommended Posts

Southampton arguably the team with the best form right now...could swindon prove to be trickier than huddersfield? could we slip up?

ok we do have a good team...and brilliant strikers..and a bench tht could walk into probably every team in the league...but have looked a little dodgy in defence...wat with rose and martin not being completely reliable...and swindon have paynter and austin..both of which hav scored a fair amount between them...

Hopefully Dury might be back in the 11 for saturday... Rose had a good second half, but he cant make the squad onthe basis of one good second half in the last 3 or 4 games.

I think that Rose has his long through and thts about it..lacks in confidence and tackling ability and is skinned all too often

We are top of the form league.

Won 5 and lost 1 out of last 6.

Southampton have won 4, drawn and lost 1.

Swindon have won 3, lost 2 and drawn 1.

Swindon did recently lose 4-0 at home to Bristol Rovers.

I certainly feel we can expect to draw at least.

They had Lucas, Amankwaah, Paynter, Ward and Pericard all injured before and lost Cuthbert to injury tonight. Also Simon Ferry is now facing suspension. Get Nelson to trample on Charlie Austin''s toes in the first minute on Saturday and they''ll have no-one left...

Leeds are really looking over their shoulders now and Millwall will give them a tough game after which they''ve got us.

If any of the current play off teams can get their act together second place is well up for grabs.

As for us. I have no fears about Swindon.

As for the last team who beat us and played really well. They have no consistency and clearly only get up for the games they want to. It is beating the unfashionable sides away that makes you champions.

Funny ol'' game football when you consider it was just a few days ago that Swindon got stuffed 4-0 at home to Bristol Rovers.

It''ll be a tricky game but we are, by some distance, the best side in this league and we really shouldn''t fear anyone.

That''s killed Southampton''s play-off hopes anyway.
