Morisons Prozac 0 Posted March 6, 2010 Forster - 6. Didn''t have to do much but kicking was poor.R Martin - 8. Was my MOM for the first half and linked very well with McNamee.Doc - 7. Solid as always and was showboating by the end.Nelson - 7. Must stop hoofing the ball out of play all the time. Rose - 7. Had a good first half but isn''t a shade on Drury.McNamee - 7. Caused havoc on the right wing and I noticed he was always trying to win the ball back, often successfully, which is what a few individuals on this site complained about.Smith - 9. MOM. +He is probably the best thing to come out of our academy.Hoolahan - 8. Was given more room today by Yeovil and was a major threat until he was subbed.Lappin - 8. Looks back to his best and whipped in some dangerous balls.C Martin - 7. Came into the game but is looking tired.Holt - 8. Was everywhere as usual but can''t believe he missed that sitter. Johnson - 6. Didn''t do much as when he came on we were just passing the ball between the defence and not too worried about attacking.Elliot - 7. Looks another good signing by Lambert. Lambert - 8. Took off the three scorers to rest them for Hudders next week and looks like he''s made another strong signing.

Yellow Rages 0 Posted March 6, 2010 Forster 6 Russell Martin 6Doc 7Nelson 6Rose 6McNamee 6 Smith 8 Hoolahan 6 Lappin 6 Chris Martin 5 Holt 7 Johnson 6Elliot 6 Gill 6 Nothing of any great note to add other than than Martin Struggled, looked tired and was off his game today.Smith was outstanding in the tackle and overall work rate/distribution.Doherty was solid and composed and Holt scraped a 7 due to his goal.Generally we were solid against a poor Yeovil side who offered little going forward. I think we looked a little nervous even at 1-0 and were reluctant to take the game to them. At 2-0 it was Samba time for a while but we never really took the game by the scruff of the neck and we would have absolutely stuffed them on a good day. Average but good enough today. Yes, he wasn''t all over the place today, but I don''t know what else he can do if a goal and an assist is considered "shocking" by some fans.

I may get lynched for saying this by some but think Lappin had an excellent game today.

Guest Posted March 6, 2010 Forster - 6 - Nothing much to do, poor kicking.Rose - 6 - Much more solid todayNelson - 6 - Good defensively, poor distribution againDoc - 7 - Dominant against a poor Yeovil attackMartin - 7 - Did well, looked a bit lethargic towards the end of the game Lappin - 7 - Good game today, better delivery tooSmith - 9 - Superb performance today, good in the tackle, good touch, looks a tremendous prospectMcNamee - 6 - Didn''t have as much of an effect on the game today, a little lightweight as wellHoolahan - 7 - Fairly quiet game, but still pulled the strings and grabbed a goalHolt - 7 - Typical performance from the big man, uncharacteristic misses from a free header and one-on-oneMartin - 7 - Led the line well, worked hard on the ball, some good skills and grabbed a goalSubsJohnson - 6 - Didn''t really have much of a chance todayElliot - 6 - Same as Johnson, looks fairly lively thoughGill - 6 - Looked authoritative when he came on, nothing much to do however

GJP 79 Posted March 6, 2010
Russell Martin 8 Doc 8 Nelson 6 Rose 8
So, what made Nelson so much worse than the other three defenders?Once again he defended really well for us, in a good team effort, and to mark him down like that in comparison to the others is ridiculous. ZLF 334 Posted March 6, 2010 A genuine 442 and the midfield looked pretty good to me meant we won this game without needing the strikers to get out of second gear, but against a disappointing Yeovil side who lacked any creative side at all Forster 6 Did nothing wrong, but also had nothing to do. First game in month that he has not been called on to make a top class crucial save.RMartin 7 Did well, but faced nothingDoc 7 - V solid - best defender for meNelson 6 - does what he does, v good in the air, no nonsense when needed, v poor with the ball at his feet and their only (v limited threats) came down his side of the channels. But had a comfortable gameRose 6 Under no pressure, looked ok but positionally caught a couple of times but to no costMcNamee 7 Not sure why so harsly treated - for the first time worked back and defended well; it did affect his attacking play but his corners were good and so were a couple of his crosses; his most complete performance so far. Wandered a bit after the subs.Smith 8 MOTM got stuck in, drove forward and wanted the ball. Back to his bestHoolahan 8 Surprised me, won tackles and headers and played the central midfielder to the T, no just wanting the ball and playing, but retreiving it too. Did create too but line McNamee did his job wellLappin 7 Best game in a long while, seemed more comfortable and better with a narrower briefMartin 6 Better than Holt, but was subdued and seemed to adapt to 442 from teh diamond slower than I expected. Some really good link up play was missed and his movement remains good.Holt 6 Why so wide so often? Worked harder than Martin but to less effect. Lucky just after he scored not to get a yellow for a reckless challenge in his own half was about the only degree of his trademark passion we saw today. Like Martin did not offer himself enough for a ball out for the midfielders.

Fiery Zac 1,066 Posted March 7, 2010 Starting to be really irritating reading comments about such and such player ''looking tired'' and needing resting. Chris Martin seems to be the target this week. From where i was watching Martin did plenty of running, made good link up play with Hoolahan, McNamee and Holt and scored a goal. If players looking tired = goals then they should all take nytol before the game. Striker being in right place at right time is what its all about and martin was. Also surely by now people must realise Lambert knows best and trust his decisions. The forum is all about opinions but simply - why would he drop a player who''s scored just to give him a rest? I want him to score against Huddersfield, hes not going to do that from his bed! Ive no doubt Martin will start next week and the week after and the week after (if hes fit) because hes scored 20 goals so far, can score even when ''tired'' and has simply given Lambert no reason to drop him. Oli is fantastic but didnt give Lambert a reason to keep him in the team when he started a game unlike players like Doc, Nelson and particularly McNamee who has forced Lambert to try and accomodate himself and Hoolahan in the same side by playing so well when given the chance.Lambert will change it when its time to change it (yes i stole that, but its good)

He''s a right sided player playing on the left side of defence which makes his job that much harder. For the amount of stuff he blocks, tackles and heads away I''ll let him off a couple of slices that end up in the stands. He''s doing a great job for us and doesn''t deserve some of the criticism that comes his way.
