Is today the day that we all firmly believe that we are going up?

Recommended Posts

I know this has been said countless times before but a Norwich City side of the last few seasons would have lost this game 100%.  But this result shows the team has a belief, a determination and a real desire to not give up.  After last weeks loss to Millwall, if we had lost today then you might start to think otherwise, but we have bounced back from this and managed, in whatever form, to get three points.  We are now on 66 points and we need just 8 wins to get to 90 points, this is so reachable.  Today is the day that I will now say that we are going up and we will be a Championship team again next season.

This post may not have made much sense, but who cares, you get the drift!

WE ARE GOING UP SAY WE ARE GOING UP!!!!!

I still believed we would go up in August. I also believed we could go 20 games unbeaten in this league at that stage, i''m not often wrong twice :-)

I love your optimism but many, many years of being a Norwich fan have taught me to be cautious in these situations. When the sums say we are promoted then I''ll pop back and join your celebration, until then I''ll just live in hope that it doesn''t go ti ts up.[;)]

We''re winning when we''re playing badly (except Millwall) and we''re coming from behind to win.Am I right in thinking our last 3 wins we''ve come back from 0-1 down to win 2-1?

I''m more than hopeful we will complete the job and get promoted but we seem to be struggling with our overall level of performance at this moment in time, one or two players including Korey Smith, Lappin and possibly even Wes seem to be labouring at the moment and I think it would be a good time to give some of them a rest and bring Mcnamee and Hughes into the equation. Can''t argue with the results but I just feel that if we don''t up our performanbce levels we still have games left that we would expect to win where we could be in for a nasty surprise if we donb''t perform a bit better.

agreed ,looking at the table last night we are clear in the play offs by 18 points ..6 wins thats just about impossible to catch . going by leeds current form and charlton i think we could be promoted sooner than we think . i would say end of march we can sit back and look forward to championship football .all being mathmaticly impossible

would be nice to win this leauge in killer style ,and watch the others sweat it out .

leeds have gained 6 points from 6 games ,if thats not faltering i dont know what is .

I''m convinced of automatic promotion, but not the title. Charlton have a game in hand on us but on Tuesday we will still find ourselves at least 6 points ahead of the play-offs. Leeds have been dropping points recently - I couldn''t believe when I saw the final result in their game against Hartlepool and the goal times, but I think we need to see Leeds a bit further behind us with no games in hand before we start getting more confident of the title.

But is it the City of Paul lambert and David McNally?

Agree with your feelings totally.  Whilst i''m enjoying seeing the team win, home and away I haven''t yet counted my chickens, nor ran before I can walk.
no, we could still get relegated!
We would have to find an incredible amount of Banana skins for that to happen.

Gonna echo the sentiments of people like Inch, WAY & Wiz.

I''m not counting my chickens until it''s a mathmatical certainty & that beautiful little "P" is next to "Norwich City" when you see the League table on SSN.

In Lambert we trust should be our motto.

He knows we''re not playing well but he''s sticking to the side that went so many games unbeaten. The side has balance with specialist players in all positions unlike previous recent managers playing people out of position or having fixations with utility players. While I''d like to see Hughes or McNamee in place of Lappin I can understand the Managers decision not to make changes. He also knows that Nelson is not the answer at centre half but has to wait before bringing back the more cultured Askou or to play Whitbread when he''s back to 100%.

Like others have said above I also am apprehensive having seen us snatch defeat from the jaws of victory too ofter in the last four or five decades. But, with Lambert and Culverhouse in the dugout and McNally and Bowkett in the Boardroom I''m convinced (for the time being) that we won''t faulter (or be allowed to faulter due to the financial implications) this time. I agree that promotion is all but in the bag now.

But if we win the league, there should not be an open top bus celebration type thingy. We''re in the 3rd tier, and promotion from this league is a far cry from our last promotion.

To have such an over the top celebration would just reinforce the ''little old Norwich'' mentality. It''s harsh maybe on the current crop of players and management, cos they weren''t the wasters who got us here, and they deserve every credit for turning the situation around. But surely we should still send them the message that Championship football is the least we expect. Back to back promotions -now that''s worth a parade!

If we win this league or even get promoted we absolutely must have an open top bus parade because:

1) It is tough to win consistently in any league.

2) We have succeeded with new players, youth players and revived players.

3) Because Lambert and McNally engineered it and we want them to stay.

4) because success in any form is rare in our history so enjoy it while you can (how many regret not enjoying past success enough?).

5) Because we have avoided losing our best player, bought, brought on and re-invented to sharks circling in the league above.

6) Bouncing back after any relegation is tough.

I will be on the street with my flag because I believe promotion will save my club from years of mediocrity. Never mind a two year plan it was vital to do it in one.

We will get promoted by being in the top 2, well lets see our remaining fixtures and pick off the 3 pointers we should win and the doubtful one''s as a lose or drawpainting a worse case scenerio basis to see if this would be enoughand tally up the ptsCurrent pts 66Target 92 pts will be sufficent to be in the top 2worse case scenerio basis 88so all we will need to do is get 4 pts from the hardest fixtures where I have stated a draw or a lose i.e Oldham A, Leyton A or Bristol R A which is acheivableand any dropped pts from Games I predict we will win.END RESULT WE ARE GOING UP we can afford to lose 4 games and another 3 draws and still be in top 2, the way things are going with Leeds and Charlton 88pts may be enough anyway so all we need to do is win our easier games and that will be job nearly done and add a few draws and still lose our harder games that will be enough                                        Result   pts  Runn totalSat 20  Southampton H    Draw      1   67
