Hooleyfan 0 Posted February 13, 2010 It''ll be a cold day in Hell when I return...Professional football should not be played in such a hole and Brighton fans deserve better. Its probably no better for the home fans, but you really have no connection with your team at this place, the place is cluttered, scruffy and has little in the way of refreshments provision for the away end. The people were friendly enough and the transport arrangements via the Park and Ride served us well...but you really can appreciate Gillingham and Exeter away after this trip. Canary_on_the Trent 0 Posted February 13, 2010 Brighton are moving into a top new stadium in a couple of years, as a club it''s been run superbly in recent years and punching above its weight at times but been held back by the ground as Brighton & Hove has a big catchment area. Graham Humphrey 13 Posted February 14, 2010 I think all the Brighton fans who have kept going to watch them every week playing at that place deserve a medal. I feel very sorry for them and I''m very thankful we have a real ground - the Withdean really is truly awful. Maybe they should provide binoculars or something so you can see down the other end. At least it rained after the game finished...

It''s population is 155,000 and Brighton fans really struggle to get tickets. The new stadium is on the uni campus at Falmer, and building is going ahead. The plans look great. I hope it works out for them as they deserve a decent ground.
dreamteam 0 Posted February 15, 2010 Brighton and Hove population 247,000, plus surrounding areas = decent catchment.
Puzzy magnet 0 Posted February 15, 2010 They could get 15,000 in the Championship; but that''s about their limit. Most people down there support a London club; or just don''t give a sh*t.
