susie b 0 Posted December 13, 2004 13th December 2003. Does that ring any bells for anyone? For me it means City v Cardiff, a brilliant win (4-1) and a terrific performance by everyone, but especially by one Mr. D Huckerby. At the final whistle I can remember the amazing noise in the ground and Worthy on the pitch with his arm around Darren, and everywhere you looked there were tearful fans (myself included) who didn''t want to let him leave the pitch, let alone the club.Great memories that I thought might brighten a grey December day here in Norfolk. Has anyone else got some memories of the day to share? If so, it would be great to read them. Thanks.
Neilson 6 0 Posted December 13, 2004 I have mainly bad memories of that day but also good. My girlfriend collapsed on the Friday before and ended up at N&N hospital in the heart specialist department which was awful I missed the game obviously to stay with her but her ward was right next to the kitchen and the chef bought his radio into the ward and we all listened to roy getting very excited over huckerby etc. The result cheered us both up and she was gladly discharged on the sunday. It was a memorable weekend and one I dont want to repeat but huckerby certainly lifted us both and she has now fully recovered a year on.
DumbleDelia is Magic 0 Posted December 13, 2004 Good thread susie. I remember being thrilled after the game, but also feeling regret that we would surely let one of the finest talents to grace the carrow road pitch slip through our grasp. Luckily 16 days later I was proved wrong! AJ 1,218 Posted December 13, 2004 it was great to see hucks back at carrow road after those 16 days....... probably my greatest memory yet!
susie b 0 Posted December 13, 2004 Sorry Neilson6 that you had bitter-sweet memories of that day, but I''m glad everything was alright in the end. With it almost being 5 o''clock or thereabouts it really is one year ago that those memorable scenes unfolded at the final whistle. And look where we are now and what we are trying to achieve. It does almost seem like a dream...

Cosmic Twin 180 Posted December 13, 2004 It was a great game! I particularly remember Hucks''s solo effort, running from about the half-way line and scoring in front of the River End where I was sitting! The man sitting behind us kept repeating that he couldn''t understand how Hucks was being allowed to leave! But he was a fantastic Christmas present!Things just got better and better from then on, let''s hope that this season continues to improve in the same way and we can keep clear of the bottom 3!Just think, whatever happens at the weekend, we WON''T be bottom at Christmas and you know what they say about the team that is! morty 0 Posted December 13, 2004 That was the only game I missed that season I got lashed up the night before and lay in a darkened room listening to Roy Waller trying not to vomit  and soooooooo wishing I''d made the effort and gone!!!
Mouse 0 Posted December 14, 2004 Hopefully Worthy can pull of another transfer like he did last season. We''re at home on boxing day so hopefully he can unveil someone who will help us to more up the table. Great memories though.
