Is Rose the new Bowen?

Recommended Posts
A goal scoring full back. Excellent.
Bit soon for that I think! Would be fantastic if he contributes half as much to the club as Bowen did. Rose''s career stats point to an average of about 3 a season (seemingly free kicks usually) - around 20 goals in 300 odd apps = around a goal every 15games.

Mark Bowen is the best NCFC left back I have ever seen, and stayed loyal to Norwich, despite some intrest from bigger clubs.

There will never be another Mark Bowen....................but I did like Rose, good throws, gets forward, good hit on him, caught out positionaly a couple of times but hes only been here 24 hours.

I am not sure why Michael Rose only has a Sky rating of "5". I thought he played ever so well on Saturday and obviously others did to make him "Man of the match". Is it possible that he played "out of his skin"?

I don''t understand either why Stockport would want to let him go being as he is a regular first team player or do I understand how or Manager got to know about him,

I have read about Stockport being in financial difficulties but its hard to imagine a situation so bad that you send out a regular first team player on loan.

Social life is not going to be easy for him being so far from home in the North West (200 miles) and I hope that he settles in reasonably quickly.

I thought he looked committed in the tackle, has a decent throw and passed the ball ok.   His goal was a bonus although the keeper went the wrong way completely and should have really saved it.

Positionally he was not great,  and lappin did have to cover for hima  couple of times and as far as attacking play went we missed drurys contribution.

But a sound enough debut :-)

My mate''s brother in law is a county fan and believe from what he''s told me they are lucky they still have a club at all at the moment. The club is struggling to survive and probably need to get all the high earners they can off their books, hence why we were able to snap up Johnson and Rose, however apparently we were supposed to be doing an exchange and Stockport were getting Cureton, which is obviously yet to happen, if at all. Absolutely unsubstantiated I know, it''s just what the rumours around Stockport were when Rose left, don''t know if there''s any truth in it.

I was saying just this to the chaps behind me in the Barclay yesterday. Both of the players look excellent acquisitions and either Stockport have a wealth of talent that they aren''t putting out at the moment or they are in real trouble. Pity if it''s the second. I really like their fans. So close to Man City and that other global football brand that happens to play in the area, but they support Stockport. Top bunch. Oh and SLKOS, love the signature, master Frank Turner I believe. Awsome singer, saw him at the queen charlotte a year and a half ago and now he plays the UEA.

Far too early to compare but a good debut none the less. I like many thought he deserved MOTM award. Yes Lappin did have to cover him a couple of times but isn''t that always the case if your full backs are pushing up, would have been the same had Drury suddenly got a rush of blood & decided to crosst he half way line. I think Rose rasied his game have seen him a few times & that was his best performance by far.

In terms of why have stockport let him go, I said the same thing about Peterborough when we signed Martin, he was their captain a regular shoe in & they were/are struggling at the foot of the Chumps. In Lambert/Mcnally I think we have a manager & CEO who are prepared to go out & get what they what they can sell the club, training facilities, fans etc. They have a clear vision of where they see the club going & are atrracting players to get us there. At last we have a Manager & CEO who actually cares about NCFC & want to make us great again. They are not  here just riding on previous conections with the club or being biggish names & milking the club for all they can!
