Why are Leeds still BBC's top Leage One story?
Norwich 2.17 points per game LEEDS 2.22 per game and taking FA cup headlines too with the way we''ve performed. You may be top but also points per game average also do not lie and Leeds are the best team in the division because they have won more points average. Oh and we are a bigger club!!
At this moment in time you are a comparable club to us with a more illustrious history but even though it''s nice to have good memories from the past it''s the future that matters and you''ll never get anywhere near the Premier league title or a Champions league final again which means you are likely to remain far closer to us status wise in the future.

Why? We have one of the biggest fan bases in England... Leeds the city, in Economical terms are getting better and better... We are one of the biggest cities in England... We''re clearly a club back on the rise having ridden of debts and making a profit... Why will we never compete there again?

I don''t think it''s impossible for Norwich to even compete up there, all they need is a new stadium to really start bringing in the money.... I just think your ''argument'' was more of poor opinion with no backing up rather than an argument...

[;)]
Maybe you will again one day but it''s more a question of how long it takes? Maybe 10 seasons 15? If you get out of League1 this season it has taken 3.  The championship is not an easy league to get out of you could easily find yourselfs stuck in there for several seasons. First season in the Prem is all about survival if you manage it the next couple are pushing on to a mid table team which i could see you getting here you certainly should do but the top 4 again no chance.
Nope, just stating facts. Leeds have won more points thus making them the best team in league one.
Ah!! Yes! I think I''ve figured out why you''re called Spain boy. Just stating facts hey? Remind anyone else of a certain Rafa Benitez??? [:)]Listen, historically Leeds are a bigger club. I agree. However, that doesn''t change the fact that we''re both in League One right now and currently Norwich are playing some great football and happen to occupy the top spot. Leeds have had a blip, but I''m sure the signing of McSheffrey will help to boost your chances of finishing as Champions. If I''m honest, I don''t care where we finish as long as we get out of this league. I just want to keep going to CR and keep seeing good football. The will to win and passion that we''ve displayed over recent weeks has been hugely commendable and is indicative of League winning form. Simples.

I think we''re all expecting about 10, 12 years before we''re challenging back up there to be fair, it''s all about patience now [;)] Nobody will be able to get straight back up there after the crippling years we''ve had... A lot of the fans who you are getting the arragonce off are often the fans who don''t have a f*cking clue about Leeds or football... If you go on the Leeds forums you''ll find the same about Norwich fans...

One fan has come onto our forum spouting about how you have the best record in Europe at the moment, I don''t think I''ll see any of the Barcelona squad tilt their hats for you... But I don''t think you''d expect that either [:D]

Why arn''t we all focusing our hate towards Charlton?? We all want them to finish 3rd... I dare say their is a neutral respect between Leeds and Norwich at the moment, and these are the clubs each Larry and Lambert will be concerning themselves with... Charlton will just keep shooting themselves in the foot and we''ll see if Colchester can keep up with 2 teams who will probably steam role the rest of the season [:D]
To be fair mate, theres not been one Charlton fan on this message board giving it "the large"And one of the reasons we dislike painboy is that before Christmas he was coming here gobbing off and saying he hoped we went up 2nd behind Leeds, and, lo and behold, we found him on the Charlton boards saying to them he hoped they went up 2nd behind Leeds. And, to be fair, roughly 75% of Leeds fans that come here are practically brain dead.

Only one word needed to back up my opinion...money. Leeds may have a big fanbase but nowhere near as big as the big four in the prem, I''m afraid money has made the prem title a near impossibility to win for anyone other than the big four clubs and even though I think it''s wrong unless something changes that''s how it will stay. You are certainly one of the clubs that could compete in the middle section of the prem quite comfortably and we could at best force our way into that category but without massive investment I don''t see how either of us could compete at the top. I don''t particularly like Leeds but I''d far rather they won the title than that repulsive red scum from Manchester or the blue dirt from London but sadly I can see nothing but continued domination of the game by those sickly clubs.

Actually,  after Man U, Arsenal, Liverpool and Newcastle... We have the largest amount of fans, yes... More than Chelsea, who are a top 4 team, more than Villa, who are pushing for top 4, more than Spurs, who are pushing for top 4, more than City, who are pushing for top four...

We are a club big enough to interest big saudi investors don''t you think?  [8-)]

And yet you only sell out your stadium for the biggest games and regularly are beaten in the attendance figures by little old Norwich.... Shame : (

I find it hard to believe you have more fans than Chelsea. And anyway as I said it''s not the amount of fans you''ve got it''s how much money you''ve got. Wigan haven''t got many fans but they''re in the prem while we''ve sold out our ground for years now and we couldn''t even compete in the championship. Even if we increased our capacity to 40k as has been muted by the chief exec and filled it we still couldn''t compete in the prem without outside investment.

... why do you find it hard to believe?  [:S] ... we have more fans, simple as... just because they have a billionaire chairman who injected and monopolised the league doesn''t make them a bigger club than us, and if you think it does then you''re an idiot...

and we''ve done it before, so why can''t we do it again??

listen, f*ck it... it''s 10-15 years away, theres no point arguing now - you''re not going to agree - End!

The reason I think they have more fans than you is because their success is current and yours is in the history books and that tends to attract all the glory hunters and hangers on. Whenever a team has a run of success it increases the size of their fanbase. And yes I do think they''re a bigger club than you which makes me a realist rather than an idiot you idiot lol.

You are a complete twat,If we are working on averages then we have a higher average attendance than you both home and away. With football everyone knows that you would rather have points on the board than games in hand and the fact is we have 3 more! You are acomplete and utter idiot. Crawl back under the rock you came from and for what its worth. I hope beckford goes on the last day you slip up and Charlton or Swindon nick 2nd.You claim to be a big club but your fans deserted you as soon as you fell from your great heights paid for by debt. You then tried to cheat football regs by going into admin at half time. In fact is it any wonder the whole country hates you and will want Norwich to win the league!

Can you just clarify this are you saying that Leeds are a bigger club than Chelsea? One teams recent history has been spent signing some of the worlds top players and competing and winning the major trophies! The other has been languishing in division 3 competing for a pot of paint! Bit of a no brainer really isn''t it?

I very much doubt you have more fans than Chelsea worldwide, i was in Egypt a few months ago every other person was wearing a Man U Or Chelsea Shirt not a single Leeds one! History is exactly that, it''s here and now that counts and put simply Leeds will never be as big as Chelsea are again. The chance was there but it went tits up.

The only reason Leeds are getting the headlines still is because I don''t think anyone really realises they are in 2nd place! I was even reading an article on BBC the other day which started, "League 1 leaders Leeds..." It is a little irritating but our time will come.

Presumably Forest will be in the Prem competing at the top again?!

History counts for nothing. Leeds'' history seems good in the relatively short space of time football has existed but that does not automatically mean they will continue making history. The mantel has well and truly been passed. Leeds are League 1 and I would love to see how the "Leeds are bigger than Chelsea" argument goes down on a CFC forum.
