Perfect day

Recommended Posts

Just read on the EDP no arrests yesterday. Everyone connected with Norwich from boardroom to manager to players to fans conducted themselves in exemplary fashion. Unlike Mr Cowling, Mr Henderson and Puddleman. What a brilliant day. The only blemish was Wes''s penalty miss but even that wasnt too bad as it saved us from seeing Arthur run the length of the pitch in his underpants.

Oh happy day [:D]

The Col Ewe fan who escaped from their stand to confront 1900 City fans near the end. The Old Bill jumped on him and went face down in a very large very cold very muddy puddle. most entertaining.

Ah him. Most pleasing that>

I thought you meant the ball boy who was being stingy with his towel...the one who Boothroyd had a chat to.

I''m a bit surprised that the EDP are saying there were no arrests Kathy as there was trouble in the town centre before and after the game. A  friend of mine witnessed  several cars being damaged, a taxi driver being verbally abused until police stepped in,  fighting at one of the designated away pubs for the day where windows were broken.

Both sets of fans were involved in these incidents he said.

Yes I''d read that Kathy but that also says that only 12 fans were ejected from the ground whereas at least 20 were ejected just from the section where I was sitting so that article isn''t too acurate is it?

I was at the bus stop next to the Norfolk pub where it all went off after the game! I saw about 20 people marched off by the Police, one arrested right in front of me! Same inside the ground i saw a good 6 or 7 ejected in the section i was in! I think someones telling porkies to keep it all shushed.
I think that there was some fairly serious looking trouble about to kick off as we picked the car up around 5:30pm at The Norfolk CA.  I would also be surprised if nobody was arrested during that but maybe they try not to connect such events with the game itself once they have fans away from the stadium and back in to the Town Centre?

Thats exactly what my friend saw near the bus queues and that was in addition to the fighting at the pub before and after the game.

Maybe as Smudger says they are only talking about arrests at the ground but then thats not a true reflection of the day is it?

As for 12 people ejected thats a total joke, I would guess more at 100 from our stand and the stand opposite which is what another poster ''Harry'' in another thread guessed at too.
I was a bit surprised at how few police were on duty.I went to Layer Rd a two or three years ago - we lost 3-0 - and there seemed to hundreds of coppers around that day. At the time one of them said it was because Ipswich were at home that day but they were also at home yesterday and ourgame had been built up into a big '' needle '' match this time.

They won''t count arrests on the day apart from inside the ground and the very near suroundings. It affects their figures.

Well now all my illusions are shattered CIB, when and why would the authorities ever dream of doing such a thing?  [:O]I am truly shocked... how will I ever pick myself up?  How will I go on???

The guy with the pink hat in the West(?) stand got chucked out after getting stick from the away end and then revealed he was City in disguise, I think he got in the away end somehow though, tbf the stewards weren''t too bad and they may well have let him back in at that stage of the game. I did like the fat Col U fan with a young boy who was giving it the big un as he walked aout just before the end, the further away he got the more angry he got, he was waiting for the stewards to hold him back ROFL!
No one was arrested because people like Smudger ejected themselves.
I was ejected RH... about 10 little men in orange came for me 5 mins after Doc''s goal.  I wasn''t going to fight with them, break the law or bring the name of our fans down, but I did give the Colchester fans who asked me to be thrown out some abuse and shoved the stewards off me telling them "ok I am going and will walk myself out" whenever they tried to lay their dirty little hands all over me.Fair crack Colchester''s stewards asked me to leave and I did, but if one or two of them have to try and behave like little hitlers then they need to be told to get back in their box.I didn''t get arrested because I am not a fool and never broke any laws, but I certainly but I was certainly ejected by approx 10 stewards who frogmarched me right to the gate and shoved me out of the big iron door slamming it shut behind them.So yes I was ejected, but no I wasn''t arrested and I don''t believe that the Colchester fan who ran on the pitch was arrested either but simply escorted outside by the police officers and then got wound up outside by myself asking if he was a Norwich fan... lol

He was warned before he went that the matter was entirely in his hands.
