Account Closed 0 Posted January 23, 2010 Brentford Supporters Stitched-Up Over Tickets by Norwich FCBrentford supporters are embroiled in a ticket stitch-up ahead of the match at Carrow Road this coming Saturday. It seems that, like other ex-Premiership clubs in the past, Norwich believes that it is their right to ride roughshod over supporters of other lower-league clubs.GPG Towers understands that Norwich has unilaterally slashed Brentford supporters'' ticket allocation from 2000 to 1400 to 900 in order to accommodate their own supporters in seats that rightfully belong to those backing the away team. We further understand that Football League rules dictate that Brentford supporters are fully-entitled to 2,000 places in the away end.Norwich''s version of events was placed on their website last night and reads:Quote:The Canaries agreed an away allocation of 900 for the game with the London club. Although Brentford made an eleventh hour request yesterday (Wednesday) to increase their allocation to 1,400, unfortunately due to the amount of tickets already sold in home areas we were unable to increase their agreed number of tickets and, therefore, the allocation for Bees supporters will remain at the agreed figure of 900. ...Read the full report here...http://www.griffinpark.org/forums/showthread.php?s=3d6449fcddcabf1ed4b36759035ed3a5&t=77765

You can''t change your mind and want more a few days before a game.
canarycol 0 Posted January 23, 2010 no stitch up there I see good buisness sense if brentford fans knew for ages that tickets would be avaialable from their own club for a game like todays, why did they not go to their ticket office earlier and purchase them ? If brentford would have wanted more due to the demand why wait until the last minute to request more ? Norwich therefore sold seats that otherwise would have been seemingly empty to our own fans Unlike the situation at colwho last week where colwho knew the great demand from Norwich fans but del boy cowling was a plonker of his own making but Im not going to great detail suffice to say that he lost on all counts On the ball City

Tim Allman 1 Posted January 23, 2010 The same thing sort of thing happened a couple of years ago when we played Southampton last in our last home game of the season. When Southampton had requested tickets, we gave then 1200 or so as they asked for 1200 and wouldn’t take the risk on any more as they had to buy what they asked for. This was at the time their financial troubles were starting. As it was our last game of the season, it was bound to be a sell out.In between the allocation being agreed and the game being played, Southampton had a won a few and went from unlikely top six contenders; a win at FCR would have all but guaranteed them a play-off spot. All of a sudden, when there was something on the game, their fans wanted their 2000 tickets! There was the same bulletin board outrage until the fans realised that Southampton had refused half of their potential allocation. morty 0 Posted January 23, 2010 We did this to death yesterday. They should have asked for more, and then all of a sudden decided on Wednesday that they would like some more. At which point we had already resold the tickets to City fans.We can''t leave seats empty, and lose money, on the off chance a handful of away fans want to turn up on the day.Brentford haven''t even sold the original allocation so this story is a load of rubbish. e10_yellow 0 Posted January 23, 2010 This is a laughable fuss over nothing. Yes, Brentford are entitled to 2,000 tickets - but your club CHOSE not to take them. Not our fault if they suddenly came scrambling back with four days to go and wanted more tickets thanks to this weird situation with FA Cup - it''s up to them to assess the required away allocation from the outset and decide whether to take the gamble on losing out on unsold tickets or play it safe and risk having some fans miss out. As for "We would also like Norwich City FC to clarify just where these "homeareas" are considering that that the away area accommodates 2,000 fans" - the capacity of the away section is not fixed; it can be changed to allow for flexibility. Hopefully the Brentford fans will realise this when they see Carrow Road today. And this bleating about kids for a quid - that promotion applies to specific family areas only - i.e. not the away section and not large sections of the home areas. Anyway from what I read yesterday there were still >300 tickets left unsold for away fans - so any Brentford fan who wishes to attend the game should be quite easily be able to obtain a ticket... Mello Yello 2,265 Posted January 23, 2010 If the opportunity arises in the pubs around Carra for our fans to chat with Brentford fans that have been fortunate to attend the game....Just explain to the Bee''s fans the situation has nothing to do with NCFC and its ticket allocation to away fans....But, actually lies at the door of their club.
