News of the World article about us tomorrow

Strange that you put all kinds of cr*p on here about another clubs owner including defammatory mock up photos and a web page too. But then you are the biggest club in..........well.......your own minds, so you can do anything you like until its something you don''t like.

There is nothing incorrect in the article as I see it and the ''could go into administration by Thursday'' does not state fact and indeed any club could go into administration on any given Thursday if their financial situation dictates.

Bowkett bringing in the lawyers is pandering to the posts on here and keeping it all lovey dovey between board and fans.

The best you''ll get is a micro column in a couple of months time, next to some MP incorrectly reported as visiting a Miss Whiplash, apologising for the ''by Thursday'' wording even though it is qualified by ''could''.

If you wish for your comments to be taken seriously then you need to get real. What football fans all across the country put forth on a message board is recognised by anyone with a modicum of common sense as a completely different "horse" than what newspaper publish. If that''s not the generally accepted fact of the matter then let''s examine together the reality of what exists on various football message boards across the land, and determine the number of court cases in existence acting upon such input.

I wonder what he would have done in a similar situation?
Agree to some extent that as you''ve taken in players for a fee then the article doesn''t ''fit'' and would lead to the raising of eyebrows.
5-0?

We can only sue for compensation for loss.   Damages in the civil

courts are not supposed to be a penalty imposed on the offender or a

windfall for the person defamed, sorry.     Any sum we sue for will

simply reflect what we have lost.    In defamation cases one does see awards for "injury

to reputation" but again, these are supposed to be compensation for

damage already done.   An award of damages is unlikely to leave us with

a windfall and better off; indeed the fact that it might make us better

off would be a defence for the NOTW.

So how much are Bowkett and McNally going to get out of those muppets at News of the World??

Norwich City chairman Alan Bowkett told the club''s official website: "In all my years in working in corporate finance I have never read such tosh and complete fabrication. The News of the World will be hearing from our lawyers and we look forward to claiming substantial damages."

Would be kind of ironic if we got money out of a paper that was claiming we are skint

lmao

Who knew the News of the World was a newpaper?Man, I never even knew this, so I thought I''d start a brand new thread about it.I think I''ll go buy about a million copies, just in case they go into administration because we sue them a LOT of money.

Very much doubt this will get anywhere. Imagine they will just remove the article. Defamation payments in the UK are not as big as you might think.
Murdoch''s rags have always been scum, just like their owner. One of the main reasons I''ll never pay a penny to Sky. I hope we take them to the cleaners.
Absolutely Herb - never ever want to put a penny into his coffers.

I would never buy one of his papers. The people of Liverpool learnt that years ago.

I would love to see Sky implode too - and would certainly never ever subscribe. As for Fox, don''t get me started...

Any money gained is a bonus. My personal opinion is that it''s good the club is standing up for itself, and isn''t letting itself be pushed around by a bog-roll rag...
