Suffolk exile 0 Posted January 10, 2010 You would have thought Jewell would be the safest option for them.

bjg123 0 Posted January 10, 2010 They have a reputation for appointing young, hungry managers with a point to prove, it''s worked out well for them so far.Premiership experienced managers are Jewell, Coppell, Reid and Curbishley, of those 4, you''d narrow it down to Coppeill and Curbishley as they''re better. The thing is, you know all their limitations, Coppell is very good, but doesn''t like managing and could leave quickly or lose interest. Curbishley is a good manager but has his limitations, you know he isn''t going to be a great manager. The alternative is to appoint someone like Grayson, Clark, Lambert and Robins. Yeah, there''s some risk in them, they haven''t got the experience and might turn out to be poor, a bit like Ince, but then again, they could be excellent like Coyle. If you have a good enough MD and/or chairman who can spot a quality manager then this is the approach which can reap dividends, Burnley know they''re punching above their weight and teams like that do so well but having players and managers who are young and have a point to prove.
