Largey 0 Posted January 13, 2010 With no pubs near the ground - it looks like the best option is a pub near the station. Then paying a quid for the shuttle bus to the groundAre most fans heading to a pub near the station (The Norfolk - how apt)ortaking the 10-15 minute walk into town?Be good to have a pub full of City fans, and not let the Col U fans in! Bit of their own medicine!
Jim Smith 2,314 Posted January 13, 2010 As I understand it we are quite likely to be channelled into a couple of pubs near the station when we get off the train. The Norfolk is one i''''ve heard mentioned. There is also a really good pub just up the hill from the station (away from the town centre). Can''t remember what its called now but when we went in there a couple of season ago was great. Real ale pub. No idea if home or away pub on matchdays. Col Canary 0 Posted January 13, 2010 You''re thinking of the Bricklayers. Yes its a very good Adnams pub but its Home only on matchdays and they even have a couple of security on the door who question anyone they dont recognise. No chance unless you''re with ColU fans or local yourself. The Norfolk is the allocated Away pub but expect it will be full very quickly. The Albert is a few mins down the road from The Norfolk although its actually a Beefeater restaurant. After that, you''re best off going into Town (15 min walk) where there are plenty of pubs. The Fat Cat on Butt Rd is run by a Norwich fan but its miles away from the ground. However you could order a taxi from there. They sell beer in the ground but of course you may not wish to contribute further to Mr Cowling''s profits.
