Branston Pickle 3,638 Posted January 16, 2010 I certainly don''t want to detract from what was a fantastic result today, but I couldn''t help but notice that Holt got booked yet again today (as did Hoolahan and Martin). With no Paintpot/FA Cup games to come to our aid, as Swindon did earlier in the season, there is a strong chance that we will have to do without some of our better players at some point in the run-in. I can never remember the rules but Holt for one must be getting close to another ban.Does anyone know how many bookings our guys are on/how many more they can get before suspensions kick in? O.T.B.C 0 Posted January 16, 2010 I think that 1st January was a new phase for bookings, but yer he will more than likely get a ban, but that will show our squad strength and Lamberts skill.
Guest Posted January 16, 2010 Hoolahan and Martin should benefit from the new yellow card amnesty rule.http://www.thefa.com/TheFA/RulesandRegulations/NewsAndFeatures/2009/RedCardUpdate.aspx
Players from the Premier League through to Step 4 of the NationalLeague System, will also benefit from a change to the date that theyellow card amnesty will take effect. From this season onwards, the cutoff date for five cautions is now reduced to 31 December.Previously, players collecting five yellow cards prior to the final day in Februarywere subject to a one-match suspension. This will now only apply if aplayer reaches five yellow cards before 31 December. Sanctions forplayers accumulating 10 and 15 cautions remain in place as do theirrespective amnesty periods.Furthermore, if a player doesaccumulate the permitted number of cautions prior to a cut-off datethen the suspension will now be automatic as opposed to the currentseven day rule.
Neither of them have yet got 5 bookings.Holt however is on 8 bookings and only 2 away from a 2 match ban. The amnesty for 10 yellow cards is some time in April (I think) and you''d have to say it''s very unlikely he''ll not get booked twice again before then.
