Ronnie Brooks

Recommended Posts

Former Norwich City Football Club chief scout Ronnie Brooks died from cancer in the early hours of yesterday morning.

Mr Brooks, 78, of Hevingham, is credited with discovering the football talent of the Fashanu brothers

A sad loss of a familiar face at Carrow Rd ,who also had a big influence in youth football through the region and was always a regular at many games I played in my youth.

My heart felt condolences to his family.

Top bloke, had the pleasure of listening to him before  a game a few years ago and was a fascinating guy to listen to.

Big shame that.

I had the pleasure of playing a few NCFC ''all star'' friendlies with Ronnie - his ability (or lack of it!) was the stuff of legends- his personality the mark of a great man. RIP Brooksy

Ronnie was chief scout at Norwich, and gave me the opportunity to have trials with my beloved Canaries, it didn,t work out for me, but i will always be grateful to him for giving me a chance. R.I.P. Ronnie.
