canarycol 0 Posted January 5, 2010 Heres hoping that Norwich City keep exeter city up to date as far as the game is on saturday, City Fans know what its like to travel a long distance only to find that the game is off, we dont want to be in the same class as walsnow, I would like to think that Norwich City are more proffessional than that, so to save exeter city fans a 452 mile round trip approx Can there be more communication between clubs to let people know the state of play as far as preperation for the game is concerned, then people can make a choice on whether to travel or not.Just a thought met some decent exeter fans in Nuneaton train station after their FA cup tie at Nuneaton Town so Im sure they would appreciate any communication as they said they travel all over the country to watch their team play
Salford 0 Posted January 5, 2010 The state of the pitch won''t be an issue so it will be down to the police in regards to spectator safety as to whether the match goes ahead. I seem to remember Brighton fans having to make 3 trips to Norwich in the space of a couple of weeks over the xmas/new yr period. 1st for a league encounter that got postponed due to floodlight failure, 2nd for an fa cup 3rd round tie, 3rd for the rescheduled league fixture. OUCH!
Bethnal Yellow and Green 2,424 Posted January 5, 2010 Due to undersoil heating the pitch should be playable, the only risk is if the Police say that it is unsafe for fans to travel etc. This usually happens much earlier, Man C - Man U was called off today for a kick-off tomorrow. In fairness to Walsall they thought they could get the pitch playable in time for kick-off but the braziers just didn''t have to heat. The main guilty party is the ref who listened to them, although he was probably only taking advice from Walsall ground staff.
ca 1 Posted January 5, 2010 Can''t see there being a problem as we''re only expecting a light dusting of snow with cloud and some sunshine in Norfolk plus our pitch is always in prime condition and very playable with our undersoil heating. When did we last call a game off due to the weather? Tim Allman 1 Posted January 5, 2010 I remember calling up the club before the game in which we beat Huddersfield 4-1 in 1998 as it had hammered down with rain in the morning and I was driving from London. I recall that they mentioned that a home match had not been called off due to weather for nearly fifteen years, so maybe the mid 1980''s?

Think it was Brighton?
Murphy and the Bricks 0 Posted January 6, 2010 I seem to recall a game being called of because of fog good few years ago....I was in the River end & couldnt see the Barclay at all!!!! Can''t remember what year though.
The Great Drinkell 51 Posted January 6, 2010 I agree with the sentiment that the pitch will be playable, as for Exeter fans I suggest you look at the news Devon is one of the worst hit places with the snow so doubt they will be worrying about travelling across country to be honest.
