Recommended Posts

i went to chelsea game with my son and we had a good day out.the area for away supporters isnt great.we sat almost behind the dugout next to damian francis and his partner(very nice).i thought though helveg did give ball away more than once he had a good game.lets face it though we were outclassed, but give worthy 160million and we would be near the top.but you must let people have their views, and this were i think wizard is out of order.on the ball city.

We were just behind the Chelsea dugout! I must admit I thought the ground would be a bit more modern but was amazed at how close you were to the players etc. Worthy signed my ticket during the warm up so I''m well chuffed. Drogba gave his shirt to the lad in front of us at half time, which was a nice touch, and Mourinho was worth his money having a bit of a game with us in response to some chanting, top man. Anyhow, thought it was a bit odd with all the fans spread out but from the pitch we must have looked quite impressive. I thought we played well, contrary to the scoreline and the grief thats being posted on here at the moment, yes, the giving away of the ball was shocking at times and as such we got punished for our errors. I think after Svensson came off (thanks btw to the bloke behind joining me in singing "Super Matt..'') we lost our way a bit and of course other than Leon didnt really have much of an attacking option left on the bench. Hucks was shut down as usual by being marked by two or three players, and with no one helping him out he cant do it all! Bentley was impressive, Safri had some good touches, was very impressed by Jonsson as I thought he worked hard linking up with leon and Bentley down the right. Yes we lacked punch up front but we had possession and control for the first 20 mins or so, Mourinho was up all the first half and clearly not happy. Second half he didnt get up at all, of course Chelsea were much more in control and were passing much better. Of course they were the better team and we could of played better, but Ive still lost my voice from cheering them on and that wont stop, so well done lads and onto the next one. OTBC.

Can you explain what you mean by Mourihno playing along with some of the chants? All I heard our end was "What a waste of money" everytime Drogba touched the ball (Until he scored then it changed to "Still a waste of money"

The whole thing about the lack of punch up front has been oft-discussed but yesterday it was clear soooooo often that the problem is that the front players are too often forced wide to keep the play moving or to pick up the ball. At one stage we had Hucks wide left (and, while we''re on the subject, how much work is he starting to put in defensively?!) with Leon and Jonson wide right and no one to cross it to in the middle.

Tilt he was gesturing to his players in a flamboyant style which prompted us to make mocking noises, to which he waved his hand about a bit. (He had his back to us most of the time) So we came back with ''Sit down shut up'', to which he tried to placate us by waving his hand down for us to be quiet, so we sang louder, and he gave us a thumbs up, to which he got an appreciative round of applause!

Guess you had to be that side but it was a nice bit of to-ing and fro-ing and he showed he could give and take the stick! I thought it was all amusing, he took it in his stride.
