A47 update

Recommended Posts

Excuse me if I don''t split my sides. Has anyone got any useful info, ie anyone who can understand that I don''t want to be responsible for the death of myself or my wife (and please feel free to crack jokes about that too)

Beauseant,

People are ringing into Radio Norfolk with the state of the roads where they are so you might find that useful, have a safe journey if you decide to make it. I just drove a few miles to the local shop as a test run, roads are slushy but drivable but worst thing was the strong wind which is causing the snow to drift.

No evidence, but anytime ive ever driven when its been snowing, once you get onto the main roads there are no problems. (Assuming you drive safely). If you can make it out of your driveway and street with no problems then the A47 should not be an issue

Just come home after travelling on A47, and roads are pretty good, drive carefully and you will be fine, average speeds they were travelling about 40-45mph.

Hope this helps !

Thanks for your suggestion I hadn''t thought of the train tbh Sheringham is nearer than Cromer thats only 13 miles from here but its the journey home in the dark that worried me most.

Might stay in the warm today and listen to the radio although I hate giving in and not being there.

Enjoy the game everyone. [:)]

Roads from surrounding Norwich going towards the ground should be much improved today, I cant see much sign of snowfall during the night and the shopping traffic should have removed most of that now.

Take it steady and leave a half hour earlier, it wont do anyone any harm.

I came back from the casino in Yarmouth to Norwich City centre at about 3am last night and the roads were driveable but slushy and we were in a rear wheel drive Merc. It can be done, you just have to be careful and its probably best to stick to the left lane.
