Was the match a sell out in the end?

[/quote]

Said on the radio theres about 20,000 there although the attendance figure on the scoreboard will be higher as they count all the 19,750 season ticket holders as being there.

The weather forced a number to stay at home obviously. Let''s hope the weather is somewhat better at our next home game.

I think you are wrong about that...

The turnstyle operators have a clicker counter device and count in everybody, attendance figures are just that, the actual attendance on the day.

I think CA is right, there was a smattering of empty seats today, definitely not 24,955 in the stadium.

So, how do they work out attendance then, is it the number of tickets sold + 19,750? I don''t think so.

If you watch the turnstyle operators they click in everyone who goes through thier gate, not just those with a paper ticket rather than a season ticket.

No I can assure you  100% that they count season tickets whether they are there or not, as many clubs do, was brought up on the NCFC site last season and confirmed by the media team. The actual attendence ( counted by the clicker''s and turnstiles) is always in the programme at the next home game.

So what you are saying is that the attendace figure given out is in fact the number of paper tickets sold plus 19750. If not then how is it calculated?

The ATT figure they IS the actusal number of people in the ground. You are clicked when you walk into the ground.

The actual full capacity of Carrow road with the segregation is 25550 so today I''d say with the few empty seats and the segregated area near the away end + the very light scattering of seats around the ground that the 24950 ATT wouldn''t be far out!

People who say their was 20,000 their today - get real!

All season tickets are counted in the official attendance figure,

They used to say what the turnout was in as a percentage of tickets holders.

eg Official attendance is 25,312 with a turnout of 92%

That I can understand, that figure would be the number of season tickets plus the number of paper tickets sold, to get the 25,312, the 92% would give an actuall attendance of 23,287.

They no longer do that however, the attendance figure given out is the number of poeple that have been clicked into the ground.

If not, then perhaps you can explain to me how they calculate the number.

Haven''t we had this discussion on here before, because it seems we have two very conflicting answers!

I cannot remember which the correct one was though...CA sounds confident so I''d buy that.

GRFC,

Here are two of the threads where we previously debated how they count the attendance  and a couple of posts from them. Think it was after these threads appeared that someone asked the question on the official site and the media team did eventually reply and confirm that it was  tickets /seats paid for that was counted and not bums on seats on the day.

It is tickets sold as has been stated on the official site several times. A few seasons ago they used to give the % of tickets that actually had bums on seats as well. Now they do the same as all other clubs and announce the number of paying customers.

I would take issue with the way pre-purchased season tickets are counted in the attendance figures. I would prefer only bums on seats to be counted.
