McCanary 0 Posted December 27, 2009 ...when the river end used to sing?? Used to stand there behind the goal when we couldn`t get squeezed in to the barclay occasionally and always remember "sing up the barclay / sing up the river end ". lots of noise from both ends...like a blooody library now. ncfcfaithful 0 Posted December 27, 2009 Modern Day football crowds!! Just not what they used to be!It makes me laugh when people say the atmosphere was great yesterday. When you compare it to the days of terracing it really isn''t!!

William Darby 0 Posted December 27, 2009 These days I think having your ticket for a specific seat has a lot to do with it. The days before, you could pay at the turnstyle and get in meant supporters could move around the ground if that fancied a change. So if a few fancied a game in the RE and have a sing song they could, the crowd now is too static.
Simon Lappin, King Of Spain 0 Posted December 27, 2009 Was in the upper river end yesterday and the atmosphere was pretty awful, me and my mate were pretty much the only ones singing and despite being on the very back row some jobsworth steward kept telling us to sit down. They did make some noise on occasions but generally it was like a mausoleum, too many OAPs and kids who just don''t seem to care about generating any atmosphere whatsoever.
