Yorkshire Canary 118 Posted December 17, 2009 Just wondered about this, do you think the position will be better or worse than the end of last season. The wage bill must have been slashed considerably, plus we sold a few players and have spent very little. Of course money from TV will be slightly down and there was the rebale on season tickets. Whilst we must be on or arpond the £20m figure my gut feeling is that things will not have got much worse than at the end of last season. The club say that they have planned for 2 years in this Division. It must be remembered that the lift to the championship is nothing like the lift to the premiership
Canary Poirot 1 Posted December 17, 2009 I''m hopeful, like you, that when the board says we are budgetted for 2 seasons in League 1, that means we are budgetted to afford the wages of the existing squad. So even if we fail to go up this season, we can keep the squad together, and go up next season (as we won''t hopefully have a similar start to this season). And obviously, if we can get rid of a number of fringe players, that''ll free up some money to improve the squad further, as Lambert would appear to be better judge of player than a number of our previous managers. The Butler 0 Posted December 17, 2009 Wait until Feb when the accounts are to be published. Then you will be able to see/hear how much work McNally and Bowkett have had to do re refinancing to keep SS Carrow road afloat.
