ur just a man in a jacket

And we thought 7-1 was bad!

Fortunately this result doesn''t top Ipswich''s 9-0 mauling at Old Trafford so the Blues are still proud holders of the record for heaviest defeat ! God bless those plucky little goal-shy, madman-led, over-cocky, draw specialists!

Yes, Martinez for the sack no doubt. Hang on a minute he has to take Wigan to an away match with another Premier league team in a few days time, beat that team 4-0 with a display of scintillating football and then be sacked the next day !

Yeah, very funny. Funny, too, to note what Pardew said in his post match interview, praising the squad of players that Lambert had inherited. Interesting too that Peter Beagrie said on Sky during the halftime interval of the match between Soton and Brighton that he had been very impressed with the players that Gunn had brought in during the Summer so it was no surprise to him that Norwich were doing so well. Compare the squad of players thatLambert inherited with the pile of S_____T inherited by Gunn from Roeder. Both Lambert and Gunn had no time or money to bring in players when they took over as managers. The difference was that Gunn inherited a very poor mixture of loaness and wannaways whilst Lambert inherited a squad admired by Pardew and Beagrie and injected with real quality - Holt, Askou, Hughes to name 3 plus youth players first blooded by Gunn such as Korey Smith Adeyemi.

Can you not just get over it Bob?

I thought this when you started posting about Gunn about 2 months, and you''re still banging on about it!

Get a life, get a grip and move on. Lambert is in charge now, if Gunn was we would be languishing above the relegation zone if not in it, Lambert may of inherited ''Gunn''s'' players but it means nothing if you know what to do with them (as Gunn showed opening day of the season) Lambert does know what to do with him, hence he is in a job and Gunn isn''t (well not a football related job anyway, being a big Gunn fan I presume you know he''s working in a mobile phone shop?)

Bob I don''t know or particulaly care which member of the Gunn family you are but when will you admit that it was Gunns managerial failings that sent us down. Had we have appointed Lambert at the point in which Gunn was do you seriously believe we would be in league one now. I don''t.

Yeah saw Pardew mentioned that. He however failed ot mention the fact that Lambert started with as many players signed by Grant and Worthy as by Gunn.

Bryan was a nice person and is still a legend in his playing days but his management was a disaster! you are like a stuck record, all you ever bring up is him signing Holt, Askou and Hughes but you never mention the fact UNDER HIS MANAGEMENT WE GOT RELEGATED! after that Charlton game he should have got the sack or walked but then we go to lose 7-1 to one of our rivals? final straw. now please stop bringing him up, its over Bob let it go man.

Back to the original post though, I believe we would have a good chance of doing ok in the champ simply as we have for the first time in years we have a winning mentality.
Yep thank goodness Ipswich''s proud record is still in tact
And them being the only team with one win this season.

And to think it''s only set to get worse for our ''skid row'' neighbours.

How many years can you keep laughing without serious damage ?

Cant say that the wigan result makes me feel any better about the colchester game, Tottenham were at home, the bigger team, expected to win and the Spurs team is packed with international players. Still the Colchesters game is in the past, thank god.

Pardew was just making excuses for them not winning, we''re hardly a settled team given the rate of change over the summer. Anyone know what the turnover was at Saints befoer this season started?

I think it important that Bob Franklin realises that not all of the squad inherited is "fantastic" or "great" for that matter. Yes, there are some good players in there, but the likes of McVeigh, Whaley, Theo, Maric are poop!

Pardew is clearly making a point about the players that we use week in, week out that are doing the business. So, lets look at the team Holt, Askou, Cody, Hughes... and not sure all of them started. playing Korey for the last few shamblic games last season could have ruined the young lad! So no credit there for playing Korey I''m afraid.

I think the main difference is that Gunny is not a coach let alone a manager. If he had got a job at another club by now coaching keepers or something then I might have a different opinion, but he clearly doesn''t want to be in the game any more let alone a coach.

I like many other fans wanted it to work with 4 legends running the team, but it was just not to be. The club are now running with their heads not their hearts.
