I am still waiting, as many other city fans I suspect, for OTJ to make his mark for us. I remember him being hailed as a very exciting signing etc...etc... I know he has had injury problems and all that but who of you still think he can make an impact? On the current run of form he''ll have troubles getting into the side. I just want to know from you fellow fans who still thinks he can get into the side and make a definite impact?

Not to sure...

He is big and strong and has experience at this level so I guess he still has something to offer.  Injury has prevented him playing more than 5 competitive games so far so it is way too soon to be writing the guy or his chances off.  He may have to wait a while though as I cant see Lambert tinkering too much with a winning team but it may be revealing that he got a fairly decent run out against Paulton.

On what I have seen so far he''s marginally better than Gill and not bad as back up but am wholly onconvinced he''s any good. Thankfully with russell, smith, lappin and Hughes ahead of him we won''t have to play him much!

I have said before and will say it again, I think that he has a big part to play for us this and next season, I think that once he gets his fitness back and gets games under his belt, he will come in replace Russel as our holding player when Rusty foes in Jan,

If that happens then god help us as and we will not get promoted. He is not remotely in the same class as Russell.

I agree that he needs more games before we''ll see what he can contribute.

Russell has done well in the holding role but doesn''t get as many attacking opportunities from the base of the diamond. OTJ offers another option there, especially with his height for set pieces.

There is also the possibility that Russell might leave in January.

He doesn''t need more games. I have seen him play on at least half a dozen occasions now and I can tell you he is sh*t. Russell is good. There is no comparison.

how can you form a judgment after half a dozen games? Any one that slates him needs there heads testing the guy has yet to have a run in the team, and only just moved here from the other bloody end of the country!

I still hold high hopes for OTJ

i dont think russell will leave in january, he hasnt made enough of an impact this season to get noticed by other clubs. i think the most likely departure is hoolahan but surely the board arent that silly...im sick of being a selling club, lets keep a settled squad, let lambert get rid of some of the deadwood and bring in 1 or 2 that could cope with the championship as well (should be get promoted).

At the start of which season? Russell wasn''t even involved at the start of this season but from the moment he came into the team has been one of our best players and has looked a class above most in this division. He had a few poor games last season but mainly as he kept being played at right back or up front and never in his natural position as Roeder kept playing that idiot Fotheringham.

Its all about opinions. You have yours and I have mine. Time will tell who is right but I would be amazed if he proves to be any good. You can generally tell within about half an hour of watching a player if they have it or not.

Well I''ll chip in with my two cents as well.

Pre-season I think OTJ looked like he could be quite handy. However, in the first few competitive fixtures he played in he wasn''t tidy enough and he wasn''t doing enough.

I think there are definitely signs that he could be a good player. I saw him likened to Carl Robinson on here the other day but that''s a poor comparison. Robinson was a player who always played it safe and played within his limits. You can see with OTJ that he will try different things.

He''s clearly a player with ability but he''ll have a tough job forcing his way into the team at the moment.

Definitely shouldn''t be written off though.

From what i''ve seen he never seems to want to get involved in the game, he pretends to look busy whenever a player goes to pass him the ball. He does pull himself together more in the second half, but I think he just needs more games.

A ferrous oedipus complex if you will.

You can actually think?

Mummy Fixation? I understand Boris Karloff was quite scary as one - in the old B&W films...Seen one or two of them at the King Tut exhibition....Not my bag.

I don''t have a feral oedipussy complex either....I like ''em house-trained and without fleas.

Do you have a ''thang'' for our ''Deals no Deals''?....I think you do.....You seem to know a lot about Oedipus complex....

Time for you to go and get some ''bitty''. So breast you be off....Promise I won''t tell, you can rely on me to keep Mum...

Those in the North don''t all traditionally have to support ''New'' or Old Labour....Like some supporters (me included) don''t have to fawn over our majority-shareholding celebrideeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! She''s done her bit, time for her to step down...Thanks, and Taa Raa.

But then, I''m not really from Geordieland.....but I don''t want to destroy Nutless''s fantasy.

I thought Maggie T was a good PM....I''m sure I''m not the only one.

Now my dear Mello, how nice that you still remember and speak fondly of me. Of course many of you wonderful people from the North recognise that popular capitalism is once again on the march. Good Conservatives always pay their bills while Socialists run up other peoples bills.

You see my dear Mello there are many similarities between me and Delia Smith but I think the fact that a woman owns your football club scares you. Frit! You''re frightened, afraid! Frit!! Delia is a woman, and like me she will go on and on and on until she feels your club would be better served if she stood down. She has a woman''s ability to stick to a job and get on with it when everyone else walks off and leaves it. You see it may be the cock that crows, but it is the hen that lays the eggs. Any woman who understands the problems of running a kitchen will be nearer to understanding the problems of running a football club. I was always taught that if you want something said, ask a man. If you want something done, ask a woman. I am sure Delia won''t stand aside and allow your football club to be swamped by an alien culture.

If you want to cut your own throat, don''t come to me for a bandage. Be true to your heart and aim for your dreams...

You are not in my fantasies Mello. The definition of a Geordie is many things to many people. Maybe just plain from the North East suits you better[;)]
