singing canary 0 Posted November 14, 2009 Serbian striker Goran Maric has been told he is free to find himself a new club. The 25-year-old signed a one-year deal in the summer after impressing former City boss Bryan Gunn in pre-season, but has only made two appearances for the club.''Goran will find it hard under myself, he won''t really figure in it,'' Paul Lambert told the EDP.''I have spoken to him and I think the club is in dialogue with his agent at the moment. I think it is best for both parties that he looks for somewhere else - I don''t want to stagnate his career, so it''s best if he goes and plays somewhere else.'' Guest Posted November 14, 2009 From the linked article:"The Serbian signed a one-year deal at the start of the season, but hasmade just two appearances for City - neither of them under Lambert."That is incorrect. He certainly played against Brentford in the JPT under Lambert. I was right behind the dugout that night and it was hilarious seeing his reactions every time Maric failed to hold the ball up. Beauseant 0 Posted November 14, 2009 Another brilliant Gunn signed maliciously frozen out by Lambert. Will the genius that is Paul McVeigh be next to be sacrificed on the altar of pragmatism? All the romance has gone.......[;)][:P]
missing in action? 0 Posted November 14, 2009 he could win a ball but his distribution was rubbish and it has to be better as a target man type.

I watched him play in JPT and thought thankfully we''ve got Holt!!! Slow, cumbersome and his first touch was appalling. Goodbye Goran,. mind the door doesn''t hit you on the arse on the way out!!McVeigh next good job, he''s already slotted back to his former self. Got his foot in the door and now resting while taking his wages every week.

GJP 79 Posted November 15, 2009 While I think Paul McVeigh hasn''t played very well when he has featured this season (in most cases) he is a great talker on the pitch. The guy knows how the game should be played and he''s a good organiser. And despite his form and fitness over recent seasons he clearly is a player with a lot of ability. So really, given how many youngsters we''ve got around the place, I think he''s probably a good character to have in there.

Dr. Ink 0 Posted November 15, 2009 Too short, too fat, and too slow, and looking for an easy street. Just as I predicted when Gunn was threatening to sign him preseason. I remember getting a load of abuse from all the WLY lovers who welcomed him back!

Impressed with him last season and a bit suprised to see Lambert put him out on loan.

Syteanric 1 Posted November 15, 2009 Lambert played the old "Out of the team and cast out" trick on Doherty and Hoolahan too.. it worked.. will Maric end up getting 20 goals for us this season now? probably not....

B-ru 0 Posted November 16, 2009 First game I saw him, looked very poor, second performance was average, looked slightly fitter and a better first touch on occasion.I felt he potential, but very poor in the air for his height and frame.Looked out of sorts when wrming up and didn''t attempt to mingle with the other players. Not a big loss over all. Is he actually released, or has he been told to look for another club?
