andyc24_uk 58 Posted November 16, 2009 To be honest, with Scotland not going to the World Cup and a year to go until the start of the next set of qualifiers, there''s little reason a manager - Lambert or anyone else - couldn''t manage both the national and a club side... 8-10 games a season with realistically only about 50 international-quality players max. to pick a squad from, certainly not beyond the bounds of possibility... Michael Starr 515 Posted November 17, 2009
8-10 games a season with realistically only about 50 international-quality players max. to pick a squad from, certainly not beyond the bounds of possibility...
50 international-quality players? Scotland? I''d say possibly 1 is of international level, the rest are there to make up the numbers. Scotland do produce the odd legendary player, but they tend to appear once in a generation. The only player I would class as "international quality" would be Fletcher, and possibly Kenny Miller when he turns up. For the future, McCormick is quite a prospect but apart from those... really... it''s quite a poor squad.
