BlyBlyBabes 0 Posted November 15, 2009 Can Delia Smith save Christmas again? Britain''s most trusted cook is returning - but can Delia ease our festive fretting over Christmas, asks William LangleyBy William Langley Published: 6:14PM GMT 14 Nov 2009 Idol of millions: Delia Smith Photo: PA ''Today the word "Delia" has its own place of honour. The Oxford Dictionary lists her as a noun, citing such everyday phrases as "Deliamania" and "the Delia effect". It is an effect that should not be underestimated, and one, hopefully, with the power to restore us this Christmas to a state of grace in which, like the young Cratchits, agog with wonder at the splendours of the feast, we will beat the table with the handles of our knives and cry "Hurrah!" ''And the power to restore NCFC to a top 2 place by Christmas [G] - and hence enjoy that feast? canary cherub 1 Posted November 15, 2009 Some people get addicted to publicity and Delia is one of them imo. They feel like they don''t really exist unless the media are talking about them, and even bad publicity is better than no publicity - "Let''s be ''avin you" a prime example.I couldn''t care less how much publicity she gets in her own right if that''s what she wants, but I wish they wouldn''t drag Norwich City into it on every conceivable occasion. We are not and never will be "Delia''s Norwich" afaic. Owners have come and gone but Norwich City has outlasted them all.

hogesar 9,618 Posted November 15, 2009 I don''t think she''s ''addicted'' to publicity. It''s simply that people are interested in her for obvious reasons. Coming up to christmas and all the cooking surrounding it, why shouldn''t she make some extra money? Especially if some of that goes back into the club. But of course, she''s a ''money stealing *£$$*'' and it''ll all ''disappear into thin air''....[:-)]

We went up oop North to write a big feature for Saga magazine when the local council listed it for demolition but then ditched the idea after a national outcry.Times have changed. I remember when the mighty Norwich City team arrived at Layer Road Colchester for Third Division South and whose coach would not start to take the team back to Norwich. I blame Cullings of Claxton myself. But we kids of the time joyfully joined in push starting it with the grown ups down Layer Road until it let out an enormous exhaust fart and trundled off back in the Norwich direction.I am sure you will arrive in an impressive Executive coach come January.
