AndyJR 0 Posted November 9, 2009 Ferguson axed as Posh boss Published: Today Add a comment (7) DARREN FERGUSON has been sacked as manager of Peterborough United. The Posh are bottom of the Championship having taken just 11 points from their opening 16 matches. A 3-1 loss to Newcastle on Saturday was the final nail in Ferguson''s coffin, and chairman Darragh MacAnthony has decided to wield the axe at London Road. The Scot''s dismissal comes as somewhat of a surprise considering he led the club to back-to-back promotions in each of his two full seasons in charge. More to follow... Puzzy magnet 0 Posted November 9, 2009 Dear oh dear - the day we lose a manager to them is the day i give up. Not a chance in hell, bit silly for you to even post such a notion.
Dr. Ink 0 Posted November 9, 2009 Peterborough are a club of similar ilke to Colchester. Temporarily fighting above their weight. No chance. Celtic''s decline, now that is more of a worry.

Longy 1 Posted November 9, 2009 Lambert is not going to a team which is bottom of the championship with about a 1/4 of our fan base. His next move if he is succesful with us, will be to a lot bigger club than Peterborough.Regarding Ferguson it is clear how he left, I haven''t seen anything saying he was sacked. It is just as possible that he has been offered another job imo and resigned.

Willmeister 35 Posted November 9, 2009 It''s nice that some people are worried about our manager leaving, rather than praying for them to leave like the last three.
O.T.B.C 0 Posted November 9, 2009 What a stupid stupid decision from Posh, he gets them promoted 2 seasons in a row and without much of a transfer kitty this year, this is how bad and impatience football is and only 3 months ago, WBA were looking at him. As Jimmy said, funny old game.

Shaun Tilly Lace 0 Posted November 10, 2009 I think there''s more chance of seeing Delia dressed as a dominatrix and singing on the X Factor than Lambo being tempted by the Peterborough job.

......and Smith must score. 1,336 Posted November 10, 2009 It''s ironic how when we were right in the poo some on here were talking about us trying to poach Ferguson and the general opinion was, that, as a good young manager he''d be mad to leave a progressive Championship club like Peterborough to join a basket case outfit like us. Now, only a few months later, a few are saying that our manager might be spirited away to save ailing Posh !! ( lol )I think Ferguson is a good manager but with two back-to-back-promotions and sticking with several players with more non-League experience than any other it''s not too surprising that they''re finding life difficult. Of course all the usual noises about " top half finish, play-offs even " came spouting out pre-season. But it was a tall order, and, despite all the guff about how " it''d take a king''s ransom to prise our manager away from here " they''re managerless again. The Chairman and owner only bought the club on a whim - he''s a Liverpool fan - so it''ll be interesting to see whay happens now especially as it seems likely that they''ll be back in the Third Division next term. ref89 0 Posted November 10, 2009 Personally, I am just willing Celtic on to another league trophy, because if we get promoted they will come knocking.
paul moy 235 Posted November 10, 2009 It would be truly amazing if Darren Ferguson takes over at Hull, and if rumours are true, it could happen.
Lambo 0 Posted November 10, 2009 Beyond harsh if he''s been sacked in all honesty. He''s done wonders there and picked out some real gems of players, especially George Boyd.
canary cherub 1 Posted November 11, 2009 Reading between the lines, it''s starting to look as though Ferguson was effectively sacked for talking to another club.
