Rustys 1st Touch 0 Posted October 12, 2009 Here are some stats based on Norwich''s results when Wes starts games and when he doesn''t start or play at all. I''ve focussed solely on our league gamesSeason 2008/2009 Started 27 Not Started/Played 19 Won 10 Won 2 Lost 11 Lost 14 Draws 6 Draws 3 Win Ratio - 37% Win Ratio - 10.5% Loss Ratio - 40.7% Loss Ratio - 73.6%----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Overall Total Started 35 Not Started/Played 23 Won 13 Won 4 Lost 13 Lost 15 Draws 9 Draws 4Win Ratio - 37.1% Win Ratio - 17.4%Loss Ratio - 37.1% Loss Ratio - 65.2%-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Basically with Wes in the team we win more games, lose less and draw more. If he had played more last season we may have stayed up but I guess we also needed a manager to get the best out of him which we now have. Also interesting to note the amount of times he was subbed off early during games compared with Lamberts decision to keep him on for the full game.Thoughts? Gingerpele 0 Posted October 12, 2009 Well, i don''t no stats, but i guessed when Wes played we won more, because he adds something, and even if he doesn''t the opposition have to be wary of him incase he does something dangerous, so we could stick Wes anywhere and he could do nothing all game, and people may moan, but really he is a distraction for the other team to deal with...... Without Wes we would have no forward momentum. He will be invaluable this season. Favourite player by far right now.

Well, these show that he''s clearly an overrated, one-footed Oirish midget primadonna show pony.Or perhaps, as most right-thinking people realised last season, despite being frustrating and sometimes annoying, he''s our most creative and attacking threat. To be accurate and announce Wes is the best, you have to compare every player.

My opinion is my own.

This season other teams are concerned about his ability by doubling up players to stop him. All I''m saying is.... well I''m not a fan of statistical facts, because you can use whatever formula you wish to draw a conclusion.

Andy Larkin 15 Posted October 12, 2009
will this shut up the wes haters up?
I find it hard to believe that there are any ''Wes-haters'' on here. However, there are plenty of people on here that thought we looked lop-sided, un-balanced and much easier to beat with Wes playing as a direct Huckerby replacement on the left wing. Now that Paul Lambert appears to have fixed that, what is there not to like?Of course he still dribbles a wee bit too much… of course he tries to beat his man too many times, but now that he has been given a clear role with the freedom to do what he does best, you can put up with it as he is not losing the ball in dangerous positions (as often!).If you class people that thought Wes should not be in the team as Wes-haters, then I will put my hand up. And it appears that Paul Lambert obviously thought the same thing… sort out the balance of the team, make us harder to beat, get us looking dangerous going forward… in that order!!! It is simple football management and it amazes me that so many of these supposedly professional managers fail at this very basic task.At long last we appear to have another Worthy on our hands…
