LEEDS AWAY!

Recommended Posts

Just wondered how many you all think we will take to Elland Road on Monday night?

With it being on SKY I think a few from both sides will be put off....

A lot of Leeds season ticket holders I know have been making noise complaining about the low numbers of away fans in League One/lack of atmosphere etc... Hoping we can show them up next week.

TV money is more attractive than a full house, which there surely would have been if this fixture had remained on a Saturday. Ironically...satellite TV money is killing the game IMHO

Ordered my tickets today, and the guy at the ticket office said they had sold loads, didn''t give an exact number though, so expect a lot of away fans.

When was the last time Leeds sold out a league 1 game?

With a ground capacity of over 40,000 they haven''t - best this season so far is 31 plus v Liverpool.

Would they bring 3,000 to us for a Sky game on a Monday night in October? No.

Plus they moan about how expensive their tickets are under Bates, but it turns out they are £21 for our match. Cheaper than the return fixture will be, no doubt.

We will get a result there, fact.

That blokes annoyed me!!!!  He said we don''t travel away like them (yes, ours is probably better because if you add up all the miles we travel a season it would be alot more than them!), well we took about 1000 fans to Carlisle if I''m correct and that is the longest journey we can have in the football league!!!  He thinks we will struggle to sell out their away section, I don''t think he realises that we have one of the best away followings in the country and there is lot''s of people who can''t wait to get to Leeds simply because it''s Elland Road.  He says we get similar home crowds but then said 22k would be good.  We havn''t had a league game with an attendance under 23k yet!

Leeds Scum!
Would Leeds take over 400 supporters to an away Johnstone''s Paintpot match 130 miles away I wonder?
No they wouldn''t Jim. But to be fair that sums up what being an away fan of our club is all about. The 130 mile trip we made was in a regionalised South Eastern Section. The furthest Leeds could possibly have travelled to any of the seven clubs in their regionalised North Eastern Section would have been around half that distance to Grimsby. Now that there is only North and South sections we have to travel 175 miles to Swindon. The furthest Leeds would have possibly had to go would have been around 110 miles. Having said that I am getting a little bit suspicious about the Paint Pot draws[:O]

But we are hardy souls and used to the journeys. A few seasons ago we travelled to Torquay for a "regionalised" Carling Cup match. If we''d have travelled that far north we would have been is Scotland.

More important things to spend my disposable income on - than travelling to away games at the moment.....and it''ll be on in the local.[B]
