I don't want to jinx the current trend so . . . .

Simply look at the goals scored column and compare it to everyone else.I am quietly impressed considering we don''t have the most fancied front lines in the league.

I think it''s a very good forward line personally. One of the best in the League most certainly. At the moment Martin could walk into any side out of the top six i reckon. And he''s steadily improving at the age of 20 (turing 21 very soon apparently), and in time, should the effort be evident, become quite a huge asset i imagine.Holt could simply walk into any side in the League. It''s not only what he provides as a striker, not only what he provides as a target man, but what he provides all over the pitch that makes him such an asset. And the fact he manages to contribute so much to our build up play, with a few assists and a fair few goals is extremely valuable to our overall game. His work rate is up there with the best, whether he''s defending from a set piece in our box, or defending and pressuring from the forward line in the oppositions half. And unlike players of the past such as Hughes, he has a lot of recognisable quality to his game, that puts him ahead of most of the players in this division. He was wasted in League Two. We''re bringing out the best in him in the play and the fans that roar him on, and when at his best, they don''t really come any better in this League. As for Hoolahan, despite admittedly having certain frustrating aspects to his game, i''d have no qualms in calling him the most talented player in this League. He provides the proper and most effective connection from the midfield to the attack in the League by a formidable stretch, he utilises our play and the players around him to their maximum potential, and conjures a few goals himself at that. Without doubt he could walk into any side in this League, and should the formation be permitting, any Championship side. We''re very lucky to have these players, and with goals coming in from eveywhere but the goalkeeper position (and Rudd is certainly happy to give it a shot from there anyway), and ''back up'' players like McDonald and Cureton that are the envy of at least half the sides in this League, it is of no surprise to me that we have such a notably decent goal tally. It''s merely a product of the quality and effective mix we have up front, and by no means do i expect it to faulter anytime soon should it not be tampered with.

Oh I don''t disagree, I just think at the start of the season, even after Lambert arrived I don''t think many other teams looked at our forward line and went ''wow''. People may be sitting up and taking notice now that the realisation has hit them but it has happened sort of quietly.Just think of all the noise that is made about Beckford etc. Long may it continue - hopefully some top Champ or low premiership club will take a gamble on him.
