It''s dreadful at the moment, and having a playlist doesn''t matter cos it hardly changes and it''s all dull.

When the teams are about to come out, something stirring (as they do at Sunderland) should be played LOUD! I''m thinking Ride of the Valkryies, Dance of the Capulets (Sunderland''s), part of the 1812 overture, Carmina Burana (the Old Spice music), Pomp and Circumstance etc... The current entrance music is too pithy and pathetic - we need it to be so intimidating that you (and more importantly, the opposition players and fans) can''t hear yourself think

Oh, and when he''s bringing out some goons onto the pitch to start the singing, stop referring to On The Ball City as "Kick It Off" - that REALLY winds me up!

i think the music they come out to is the new premiership theme tune and is the same at every premier game in the country. The players then all line up and shake hands. A copy from the champions league games but with a crap tune.

I seem to remember hearing that the music played whilst the players are warming up before the game is actually chosen by them, but that might not be true.Personally I do get annoyed with the volume of the music sometimes in say the 15 minutes before the kick-off as the atmosphere should be building up by fans chanting songs, rather than having (generally rubbish) pop music blaring out.

Generally rubbish pop music - I agree - there''s a time and place, and the last 15 minutes before kick off isn''t it. But I definitely believe that something stirring and loud as I mentionned before will get the crowd going a lot more when the teams come out.And that''s another thing - I agree with the MitS column this week about kids in the Barclay singing too quickly, and would extend that view towards people clapping like demented sealions to almost anything.

Too bad the teams enter at the same time, otherwise we could play "the muppetshow theme" for the visitors

I sit next to a dear old chap who is very hard of hearing.  I love chatting to him and hearing about ''the good old bad old days'' but it''s very difficult when he wants a response from me and I have to shout myself hoarse into his ear just to be heard.

They seemed to have resurrected one vision by Queen for when the players come out. I seem to remember they played that when we were premiership in the early 1990''s.

Personally I would pick the music from the ATeam. "10 years ago a crack comando unit was sent to a prison by a military court for a crime they didnt comit......."

we have had this dicussion before i believe and i still think we are better off with none at all, after all it is supposed to be a football match, we should be able to hear the singing from fans (if there has to be any, though i cannot think why we need it) it should never be on in the final 20 minutes b4 kick off

sadly, due to my socialising duties, i am rarely in the ground much b4 kick-off, and the music is one tiny reason why!  don''t get me going on the subject of the bars!!

agreed on singing otbc b4 kick off, we can manage on our own thanks, it is embarassing in the extreme!!

Personally, I think the Sunderland pre match music is very effective.

Mind you, our PA system sounds like it needs a bit spending on it, so I dont think it would sound quite the same.

A-Team would at least be funny.

I aint getting on no plane Worthy!!

Talking of PA systems, does anyone remember the announcer at Coventry this year?
He sounds like Barry White brought back from the dead. Are there any other funny-voiced announcers out there/any suggestions for a comedy-voiced announcer?

Music wise, I definitely think that when we play Ipswich we have a theme for each team. The Binners can have "My old man''s a dustbin"...

The music from Doctor Who (the original one, not the jazzed up later rubbish)- Doc looks like a Siliurian, Greeno a Sea Devil and Matt with his spiky hair looks as if he just saw a Dalek..........

I''ll just re-itereate at this point that i have no connection with the club at this point.

To the Person who said that the PA system needs upgrading.. the actual system is fine. it''s a good amp and mixer, the problem lies in two fundermental places. There is no boosters in place along the wiring to the speakers (in wiring this length it is usually commenplace, so the sound can be ''''quieter'''' going into the amp, thus reducing feedback. And the hissing noise at half time comes from the Microphones being tested - again because these are radios they will pick up certain feedback.

Regarding Music, i was under the impression that it is chosen by the ''DJ''

Any further comments welcome and i will draft up a reply when people have had more chance to express their views. Comments on the volume being to loud will definetly be included.

Would also like to no - What would you NOT like to hear? (Britney Spears Singing ''Everytime'' is one for me)

However, One Vision is choosen by the players, and if this helps gee them up i belive this should be left untouched

keep well

we should take a leaf from Saracen''s book a few seasons ago. Each time a scrap broke out they played the Rocky theme tune!! Very funny indeed and soon stopped the handbags.

Hey AJ

Daydream Believer was dropped because those chaps down the A140 got rid of Burley. (Remember the line: **** off Georgey Burley, oh what can it mean, to a sad scottish ******* and a **** football team?).

If something suitable could be found, no doubt there will be a song played about Mr Potato Head.

P.S. Queen most definitely do rock.

How about a bit of local irony:

"In the Country" - the ''local'' Farmers Boys cover of the Cliff Richard tune.....

Would be class!

The music they play when Newcastle come out is Blaydon Races. I think the music can be really loud sometimes and especially in the new stand you have to shout to talk to someone only about 1 metre away most of the time and can also be annoying after OTBC when the teams are being read out with music in the background but otherwise is satisfactory.  But  for those who don''t like the music what about when people sing to the 2nd part of the goal music S D J for some that is the best part.
