Will Lambo risk Skippy on Tuesday?

Recommended Posts

Oooh, let''s see. [^o)]Our second choice goalkeeper would be the one on the bench for first-team games, wouldn''t it? [^o)]So if our first-choice keeper is suspended, would our manager pick our second choice goalkeeper, or would he pick a third choice goalkeeper who recently blundered in the reserves.... [^o)]Tough one, that.... [^o)]Slow day in Lowestoft?  [|-)]

Gawd I hope not..........I''d rather risk young Rudd.[Y]

Has a good kick on him too.
If he did he would undo all the good work he has done so far and you could expect chants of " You don''t know what you''re doin !!! "

Agree to a point Pirate, but skippy is, unbelievably so, more experienced!

And expanding on that, is Skippy already finished, washed up, kaput at City then?

Why has Rudd been on the bench in front of Theodropalot in recent games? - Because hes ahead of him in the pecking order so would obviously get the call to play 1st!

Rudd has got to and ,looks like he will probably play on Tuesday!

I think the fact that Rudd kept a clean sheet for more than an hour yesterday will surely get him the call on Tuesday.

Unless we get a successful appeal on Forster though of course...

I think Rudd should get the chance as he did well yesterday. He made a couple of great saves and looked to be in command of his area.

OK he didn''t save the penalty but that''s such a 50-50 to go the same way as the ball''s struck anyway. After all, we don''t want a repetition of the Joe Lewis situation do we?

You''re not the only one actually cos I think the same. He''s obviously not a bad goalkeeper given the awards he won in Australia so perhaps he was just struggling to settle in a new country etc. Surely a home tie against Leyton Orient is a good one to give him another chance in?

He did well when he came on. Would be more much worried if Theo was in goal. Always got Steer for the bench
Of course it will be Rudd to start. The interesting question is who will be on the bench? If Steer is injured then my guess is that Cody would get the call.
HAH  Good one!

Cheers for that Romantic, the other thing is if Theo is now No 2 because of Steer''s injury, does he now make the bench for Tuesday?

If so, that worries me as his confidence must now be sub zero.
So your follow-up question to "will the goalkeeper Paul Lambert doesn''t rate suddenly become his first choice?" is the even more bizarre "will Norwich City''s second choice goalkeeper get a place on the bench?"Oooooh, I wonder.Still, nice to see you have a friend.

Got to be Rudd, he looked quite shaky when he came on, flapped at a couple of crosses and didn''t come out to one which flashed across the six yard box and could have led to a goal with a better finish, we may have been a little lucky to go in only one down at half time (but we shouldn''t have been one down in the fist place so I guess that evens it out slightly!) but obviously he got a bit of advice and encouragement from the manager and in the second half I thought he was top quality. My favourite moments were his reaction save from a Simeon Jackson volley and when he flattened the same player, after winning the ball, when he was put clean through in the area. You cannot have been to the game on saturday and not come away thinking that Declan kept us in it, he obviously has some way to go before he''s the finished article and certainly needs a couple of old heads in the back four to put an arm around him and give a little advice, but from what I saw you''d be crazy to play Theoklitos ahead of him. I would also be intersted to hear what exactly Theoklitos has been doing in the reserve games to prove himself worthy of a place on the bench let alone in the starting line up.

He showed great anticipation, commitment and athleticism throughout the second half and you cannot have come away from the game thinking anything other than that Declan kept us in it, he obviously has some way to go before he''s the finished article and certainly needs a couple of old heads in the back four to put an arm around him and give a little advice from time to time, but from what I saw you''d be crazy to play Theoklitos ahead of him. The youth team''s coaching staff and Paul Crichton deserve a lot of credit for producing a goalkeeper who (admittedly from only one performance) appears to have potential to play at the highest levels of the game.

I would also be interested to hear what exactly Theoklitos has been doing in the reserve games to prove himself worthy of a place on the bench let alone in the starting line up.

Rudd every time - in fact I''d have him ahead of Forster as well as I''m less than certain about him. Very slow to come off his line and doesn''t command his area at all well, was at fault for both Charlton goals in my view by being too static. Rudd should be given a go and hopefully will retain his place.

As for our Australian friend I wouldn''t worry about winning awards in Australian football, the national team is quite decent but the Australian leagues are really poor. He could well have won the award for turning up on time for training!
