Mr. Bump

Stefanovic's contract has been terminated

Recommended Posts

Not long ago..

"I''ve been doing all sorts of things in the gym and I''ve been

outside with the ball and the phsyios and I saw the specialist

yesterday who gave me the green light so I can go ahead now. It''s just

such a shame I couldn''t take part last season, over the past seven

months, but that''s football. I cope with that and now I''m looking

forward to next season.

"I don''t think my age makes a difference, I''ve done very well. It''s been seven months and I''m ready to play, simple as that."

With the start of pre-season less than a month away, the 34-year-old

looked to the future and told First News of his hopes: "I hope to stay

here for another year and help this club get back to the Championship.

It''s going to take hard work, quality and with new players coming to

the Club, we''ll go from there."

It always seemed to me that he was happy to stay, but the club found his wages too much, especially if he gets injured again and spends another season on the sidelines.

That''s exactly right.Shame, as I think he had something to offer at this level, but the die had been cast before Lambert arrived, and he is one of the highest earners, so I suppose it was inevitable.

Some of you coulda missed this as its kinda small printed under a huge advert and is easily missed"Commenting on the news, City boss Paul Lambert said: "Dejan made it

clear he wanted to leave the Club before I joined. We thank him for his

efforts and wish him well for his future

Thought Stevo wanted to go back south. He mentioned this at end of last season.

Good luck to him but I don''t think he would necessarily have been suited to this league and he is injury prone.

Just a thought...If i was Sven and co. Dejan would probably be the kind of player i  would be looking for to go alongside Campbell. If they see he''s up for grabs they might get him ahead of Doc, who they''re supposedly interested in.If they get Dejan and not Doc, we''re lumbered with the Doc''s qualities (or lack of) for even longer. I really hope this doesn''t happen.

To be honest, I''m now of the opinion that Dejan is a bit of a moron (what I really think of him wouldn''t get through the swearing filter).

He''s sat on the sidelines earning a vast wage for a year while the club stuck with him and then the minute he feels better and well enough to play, he makes it perfectly clear he wants to move off.

Good riddance, it''s just a shame we blew the better part of £350,000 on his wages.

Probably good business - we surely have not paid him much in compensation as he asked for a release, and we have removed one of the better paid from the wage bill. What contribution would he have made, had he stopped? Slow, and here only until May, I suspect, even if we were promoted. He is the past. Let''s hope that Lambert can bring in someone who is quicker and younger, to replace him!All in all if someone wants away, you are probably better off without him.

Interesting Nexus.

I am struggling to understand some of the love for Dejan shown on this thread. The Dejan I saw last season was a liability at times giving away fouls in and around the box and didn''t really look up to the fitness required for Championship football. Anyway 14 games 2 yellows 1 red and 2 pens conceded makes the much hated Donkerty look quite good in comparison [:O]

Good news, high earner off the bill, he gave away more Penalties than the Doc did last season.

Hopefully this free''s up a space for a half decent CB if the Doc can be offloaded also.
