Hmm

Hartlepool and Brentford vs 10m kenywe Jones and Sunderland. I think that has more to with it.

The doc bashing is a disgrace and the fact most people seem to think he''s rubbish is reminds me of stupid tabloid myths surrounding the England team you know things like Crouch is rubbish Hargreaves is rubbish etc..

the reason Doc is being left out is nothing to do with ability it is all about money. Lambert is trying to ship out the top earners to save money and bring in his own players. If it''s not about this why has Wes been jettisoned.

Shipout the top earners. That is why Russell  played tonight then, he is on peanuts. Doc is so slow it is funny.

Well there can''t be many teams that rate Doc.  He stalled on his last contract, looked around for other offers (fair enough he''s entitled to do it) but none came, so he stayed here.

Im sick of hearing people saying "stop the Doc bashing".... You all deserve a bashing! DOC is horrifically awful! He makes soo many mistakes!! How the heck do you not see them?!?! Seriously!?!?!??! Raise your standards of football for the love of...

You would have thought him dropping down a league would have made him a decent player in cotrast to the strikers he has to deal with but.........

DOC is too much of a liability and him gone has already given us consecutive clean sheets. He simply isnt good enough for us. I hope he leaves and proves us wrong but we are clearly better off without him as far as I''m concerned.

On the Russell point : I think it might be linked to Gill being out for 2 months. Strange that as the lose a midfield until Christmas one is welcomed back into the fold.

Nice and selective there in the match you chose. What about Colchester, Exeter and Brentford away? All game the Doc played in and we conceded yet you don''t mention them!

The point is, I''m worried that Doherty might wind up at his favourite club, Luton. But I have faith in Harford, who is a decent football manager that will see that mercenaries are not required.

We have played one very poor league 1 team away and an average league 1 team with half their first team out, in a minor cup competition, hardly anything to draw conclusions from imo.Mr Lambert doesn''t rate him and that is all that matters.

Davo
I for one certainly think he''s responsible for all the goals conceded at those times, as well as all 98 goals conceded last season. He is also single handedly responsible for our relegation. Some people are such effin muppets sometimes its a joke.
Yes but that wasn''t the point was it? Also we won 4-0 at Yeovil when Doc was playing so it all proves pretty much nothing. It''s never as simple as just taking out one player and suddenly everything is magically better. Not that it matters as I can''t see him playing for us again.

Ask nutty.

When you watch a game through goal highlights on the Football League Show or SSN certain things become apparent.

 • If your team keeps a clean sheet the defence have nothing to do. You never see them unless they are involved in a goal at the other end.

 • If your team doesn''t score then the forwards never get a kick. You never see them unless they are involved in conceding a goal at the other end.

 • When your team concedes you can choose which player to blame as you will have no idea who was marking who for the rest of the game.

 • Whether or not the midfield went missing matters not a jot because midfield rarely exists in goal highlights.

So if you ask nutty the difference between when we have won or lost, played well or not, has been down to the midfield and specifically Stephen Hughes. While Hughes has been on the field this season we have scored 12 and conceded 2. When he hasn''t been on the field we have scored 4 and conceded 14. I doubt this has been obvious from the goal highlights so once again, if you ask nutty, you and Wiz should talk amongst yourselves.

You know that I very rarely publish specific opinions on matches and individual players as I am only able to  watch occassional matches in full. So we''ll ignore your rather juvenile and condescending first paragraph.[:)][:)]

The point about Hughes is pretty obvious - even from text highlights, opinion pieces, conversations with friends, statistics and reports. But of course you would claim that informed opinion can only be result from attending matches - although Canary Call alone rather rocks that foundation I''d say.[:$]

And, of course, I just knew you''d come up trumps about the Doc. Thanks.[:)]

You don''t need statistics to prove that he''s bad - anyone who knows anything about football can see it with their own eyes. Rocket science it ain''t

Nuttys point is spot on.

Tonights clean sheet was a triumph not for the centre backs (who imho remain a impending disaster) but for the coaching staff. And no not for dropping doc but because he has made the midfield both a defensive and attacking unit - something we have not seen for 2 years+

Hughes is a key man but the rest of the midfield now retain a decent shape,  close down and finally seem to be getting to grips with what is expected of them.  They are offering real protection to the back four.

Despite this protection there is still a lot to worried about. B-A and Nelson have no pace,  were turned last night and BA in particular has a habit of mis-judging the flight of a ball,  as he did against Wycombe.

The bonus is the midfield - we look like we have a midfield and set ball players who will create us goals to win games.   Buy a decent set of centre backs and we then have a chance of keeping out enough goals  to get promoted...

Possibly:

Cureton 2 starts = 0 shots on target.

But of course it''s just confidence with Jaimie Lad , isn''t it.

Double standards, or what ?

Couldn''t agree more,  congrats to Nutty and ZLF for conveying the situation  so well rather than jumping on the latest bandwagon!
