hoolahan

Recommended Posts

listnening to canary call last night i couldnt help but here some people talk about hoolahan, i have to admit i agree that hoolahan isnt any good on the left and we tend to lose shape with him in the side but i was thinking i think hes the sort of player we need to give freedom to roam to, i liked lappin on saturday hes a much better left midfielder then hoolahan but hoolahan i think is best suited to the lampard role, attacking freely behind the front two

ie

mcviegh hughes lappin

hoolahan

holt mcdonald

we all know hoolahan is a gifted attacking player but his best role isnt providing cross thats lappins speciatlity

wat do you reckon would you be happy seeing

alnwick/rudd

semmy spillane askou drury

mcviegh hughes/adeyemi lappin

smith/hoolahan

holt mcdonald

play a more attacking role in the game

I stopped reading at behind the front two...

we MUST play 4-4-2 in this division to stand a chance, if we go 3 in midfield with one in a free role we will be over-run and lose the midfield battle.

Back to basics which means no place for Hoolahan, I''ve never rated him apart from maybe 3 games anyway.

I think hoolahan is an intelligent player, he seemed to be the only player tracking the runs last night. whalley and otsemobor either both went to the ball or both left it. The only problem with hoolahan is he tries to put a foot in every time and players just go past too easy. I know he''s not a defender but we need to play someone on the left midfield who can help out the left back until we stop leaking goals.
