Norwich fans in Bristol

Recommended Posts
Given all the other threads of this nature and ''where are people watching the game tonight'' threads, I wondered how long it would take you BC!
It''s only cos we''re lonely [:)] and want someone to share the pain of our nationally televised drubbing [:D]

What an interesting time to ask this question. I''ve been down in Bristol now for 3 years. I moved out of my flat in Hotwells/Clifton 4 weeks ago as I was meant to be moving into my new house purchase in Brislington with my gf.

However we pulled out of the purchase and we are now living on a farm in Pensford until this weekend when we move again, temporarily, to Sea Mills.

In about 4 weeks time we will be moving back in rented accomodation in Clifton/Hotwells/Redland. Not sure where yet, only started looking at flats today. 1st viewing coming some 30mins before kick off tonight for which I just caught the beginning of the game.

So you can see why this question has interesting timing.

On couple of side notes. Will, I forgot you lived in Bath. I go there everyday to pick my gf up from work. So if you fancy a pint sometime give me a shout (numbers the same if you still have it or just PM on here)

Also does anyone know who the Canary fan is who parks their green ford fiesta outside the garage at the top end of Feeder Road? Its decked out in Norwich memorabilia and I have passed it every day for the last 3 years, just curious is all!

I live in Bristol, next to St George''s park. Think the only thing for it is a meet up for a drink at some point? Preferably at the weekend though as I''m in Munchen during the week!

Been here for 3 or 4 years, between Clifton and Hotwells.

Anyone else hate the fact that everytime Norwich are on Sky there it seems to be at the same time as a rugby game?

White Lion seems to be the best place I find for managing to get a game on in tough circumstances!

Shy lurker, not wanting to sound nosey but clifton/hotwells must be

cumberland basin area right? I''ve just moved from Abermarle Row (opposite the

primary school). Have you ever tried the Merchant Arms for very local or the Greyhound

(in the village) for sport. Both favs with me. Hate the service in the White Lion even if the view is ''The Best in Bristol''.Not been to the Roo Bar in years. Awesome for the egg chasing games!

Roo Bar is where I always go for the games (i live pretty much opposite).

I work in Brislington so am over there quite a bit.

Def think a meet/drink when the next Live Sky game is on is in order!!

Anyone care to organise? Whiteladies is easy for me!! But also has good bus/train links and might be the most convient?

For reference, I always wear my centenary shirt with ''MacVeigh'' on the back, so if you see anyone wearing that then come and say hello!!

PaulyH, both those pubs are about the same distance from my flat - both hugely preferable to the White Lion in terms of service and ambience!

I''m currently associating the Roo bar with bad days as that was where I watched the final day of last season unravel!

Might be able to drag myself there for the Leeds game though.

Hope you guys took advantage of the close proximity of the Yeovil and Exeter games so far this season!

I went to the Exeter game but didn''t make Yeovil as I was out of the country. Hoping to make it later in the year along with Cheltenham (are they in our league?), Rovers and Swindle.

I live (and work) in Stoke Gifford, north of the city centre.Lived in Bristol on and off since 1990.OTBC - interested that you spend the week in Munchen.  Are you talking Munich here?  I lived there for 4 years (1998-2002).  Had a ball.
The ''Roo Bar'' as it is now called is the scene of one of my proudest nights of being a city supporter.  I used to live opposite in Chertsey Road.It used to be called the Steam Tavern (it specialised in Newquay Steam beer and was next to a train station...geddit?).I was in there (in my colours) the night we beat Bayern Munich in the UEFA cup.  The bar was packed and everyone was cheering city on (after the first goal anyway) no matter what team they supported.  After the match, I didn''t have to buy another drink as I just kept on getting them thrust into my hand along with a slap on the back and a ''well done for beating the Germans''.In fact, I walked around Bristol for days with my (beer stained and very smelly) shirt on afterwards, and loads of people stopped me in the street to congratulate city.Funny thing, a fews years later, I went to live in Munich and whenever I mentioned Norwich in a pub there, none of the locals seemed to be able to remember us.

Have been in Bristol since 84....am in Bishopston near the cricket ground and can see Rovers floodlights from the attic. Hasn''t been a great  sporting year,  Norwich member and shareholder,(Yeovil, Exeter and Brentford away already), member at Gloucestershire Cricket and a regular watcher of Bristol Rugby Club, not exactly the Holy Trinity.

Does South West Canaries still exist?

Oh dear, they turned it into a trendy bar? Remember watching a Champions League Final there (Bayern Munich won I think) and also saw the Man Utd - Bayern Munich final in what was my local at the time - The Rising Sun - now that was a student pub. Seem to remember watching Norwich lose to Grimsby on Sky in the Aussie themed bar further up Gloucester Road - not a good day.
