Sullivan and Gold to buy city?

Recommended Posts
David Gold lives in the nest village to me (in Surrey). I see him being chauffered around all the time and he''s even spoken to me a couple of times when he saw my shirt.... mainly to do with how the clubs have gone on since that play-off final. How funny if this is true and he''s seriously considering it. His sister owns ''Anne Summers''..... new club merchandise on it''s way then!! [;)]
If they make us successful I could not give two hoots whether they have made their money from the adult entertainment industry. I believe 95% of our fans would say the same. If you would rather we were nice and pure but unsuccessful then thats your perogative but unfortunately with that attitude we are unlikley to get anywhere in football these days.

No doubt that Mr Sullivans'' past is in his past.  However something on his wiki, if true, suggests the man has no class at all.By the mid-1970s Sullivan was in control of half of the adult magazine market.[1] In the late 1970s he produced several low-budget British sex movies including Come Play with Me (1977) (directed by Harrison Marks), The Playbirds (1978), Confessions from the David Galaxy Affair (1979) and Queen of the Blues (1979), all starring his then-girlfriend Mary Millington. After Millington''s suicide in August 1979 he continued with Mary Millington''s True Blue Confessions (1980) and Emmanuelle in Soho (1981).
Am I alone in being horrified at the idea of a pornographer taking over our beloved club? I''d struggle to pay money for a single match ticket, let alone a season ticket, to such dubious characters.Fortunately, as others have pointed out, this is mere speculation at the moment.Sure, Delia & Michael have made some strange decisions at times, but at least they are genuine supporters of City, unlike Gold and Sullivan.
Well I am with you Mr Rich. One needs to have some standards in life.

It''s natural, it''s beautiful when in love, and there is northing wrong with porn, sex toys, sexy undewear or dirty magazines, it''s life, it happens, broaden your mind a little.

LMAO, im all for differing opinions, but I don''t think i''ve read anything quite so mis-informed as what was said earlier.

I''ve seen lots of porn films when I was younger, I also read a few magazines out of interest, I also go and buy stuff in Anne Summers, doesn''t make me a rapist.  Breaking up marriages, jesus wept, where do you start, if anything sometimes it can enhance making love, make things exciting.

Ok i''m done lol.

I agree with Jim but I am not convinced they would make us successful. In the time they were at Birmingham they got them relegated a few times. Spent a season in the third division. Spent loads of dosh on concrete. Appointed plenty of crap managers. And had a spell in the Prem but never managed to get far above the trap door. This did not meet with their fans expectations.

It''s not about where their money came from it''s about the football decisions on how it''s spent. Appointing rubbish managers is just that whoever appoints them. And wasting the player budget won''t bring success whoevers money it is.
I''m with you. I don''t trust them. Like I said previously, the Birmingham fans won''t mind seeing the back of them. Yes, they got a couple of promotions but they also got relegated a few times as well. I don''t mind much of their porn industry stuff, but I''m more concerned about their tenure at Birmingham.
I find this incredible.

They got promoted a couple of times and got relegated a few times. For starters, how is that possible to relegated more than you were promoted when you didn''t go into Div 1? Trying to put a negative slant on it?

But come on, our fanbase says we should be a team who flip flops between the Prem and the Championship and i would be happy with this.

Put your hand up if you are happy to switch betweent he Prem and Champ, because at the moment, we ain''t going to see the Prem for a long, long time.

In relation to the link between porn and rape, perhaps you might explain why most criminologists and psychologists take that seriously.  It is not too say everyone who uses porn will rape, rather that it can trigger such behaviour in the vulnerable and dangerous. Famously Ted Bundy admitted that his desire had stemmed from heavy use of porn, which then moved onto images of pain etc.. You may think that is ''just sex'' - I think it different.

Yes sex is good, yes we all do it. But that hardly makes the porn industry ok....so tell me again. Would you want your daughter performing in movies with strangers for money- and if not why not? I am no prude I am just trying to point out that those uncomfortable with the past of the potential new owners should have a voice and not smply be mocked and told to grwo up.
