why compensation??

Recommended Posts

It says on the pinkun site that norwich will discuss compensation with COLU tommorow. It says on the Col U webside that paul resigned as he was desperate to take up the position at NCFC...

Why would we have to pay any compensation?

but he resigned.???

If i quit from a job, and termiante my own contract, why would my new employer have to pay compensation....

I would have thought had we needed to pay compensation, surely this would have been agreed before hand?

Because he was under contract to us!
Think you''ll find resigning means the contract ends. You could enforce his notice tho (gardening leave) so guess compensation is to stop that happening

If that was true then why don''t players simply resign if they want to join another club?

Football is different to the real world. Contracts are put together by teams of legal bees who ensure that everyone (player/manager & club) are protected. It basically comes down to money. The more your paid and or are worth, the more conditions and protections are in place to safeguard against both parties (usually the club) getting shafted!

Footballers and managers are employed under fixed term contracts. The notice periods are the remainder of the contract - you can''t just "resign", hence the need for some compensation to be paid.

It will get sorted I''m sure.
