I hope that Lambert can come in and shake things up. Possibly sign a new CB and CM and look at the squad with a fresh pair of eyes before we start on a real losing streak. I think Gill and Semmy are misfits in this squad and would like to see the back of them. I''d also like to see some competition for the Doc. Whaley, Theo and Nelson arent impressing so far but I feel better about them than the others. They havent had enough time to settle in and I feel they may have more to offer than we think.

If Lambert wants Russell I reckon he''ll get him motivated.  Lambert likes the physical stuff and so does Rusty, maybe PL will teach him how to be physical without getting sent off every other week!

Is there any particular reason why Lambert can''t ship out some of Gunns dodgy signings along with the existing dead wood? It would be strange admitedly, but so far everythig about this season has been strange. If we can find takers for Gill, OTJ, Nelson, Theokolitos, McVeigh and even perhaps Whaley, they should go.

got to say that city-till-i-die is speaking the most sense for me. i''d just make a couple of swaps: otj for adeyemi and askou for spillane.

the only other set up i thought might work was:

this way we''ve got balance and guile and the ability to stretch people when we need to. however, doesn''t look like we''re going to score many from out and out wing play this season so might as well play it more down the middle. also, in hughes and lappin we have the two best dead ball specialists at the club on the pitch for corners etc.

You have to play 4-4-2 in this league. Christmas tree formations only work with better quality players and frankly we dont have any. My appraisal of our squad puts us mid-table in this league. It''s sad but its true

[/quote]Bar playing Askou at right back, if we we''re to go with that kind of formation, i''d be happy to see that line up.Only problem is Holt often struggles to have an effect when he''s not part of a wide formation.

Swap OTJ for Russell and thats my strongest team good formation too

Yes I think your right, so we can expect to see our team playing hoofball, so that would probably mean playing Holt and Maric together upfront.  Yes he could get Russel to play physical with out being reckless but Russel dosn''t want to play so I think he would start with Adeyemi and Tudor Jones.  I think give it a couple of games and the team will be like this;
