Who Is Next?

Just thinking who the supposed new manager of Norwich City ''to be'' is.The criteria for candidates (going by the McNally interview) seems to go along these lines :- The manager is currently employed (as most know).- Is said to command a decent track record (although not neccessarily in League One).- More likely than not has little or no connection to Norwich City FC.- On the basis of the interview, one would assume he''s also in command of a club higher up in the English Leagues.- Also has a reputation for getting a club to punch above it''s weight.==============================================================================Candidate no.1 ~ Nigel Adkins ~According to Scunthorpe''s chairman, and information known to their local radio station, Nigel has not even so much as contacted Norwich City, and neither has he been said to of been contacted by the club. However in a post match interview Nigel seemed not to dare give a yes or no answer when the question of him joining Norwich City was raised, surely leaving possibilities of an outcome in City''s favour out in the open. The man fits the criteria perfectly, however news from Scunthorpe seems to regularly deliver a stubborn ''NO''.Possibility rating? 7/10*****Candidate no.2 ~ Mark Robins ~Again, reports of the Rotherham manager joining Norwich City have been quashed by the clubs local radio station. He has a decent track record as manager though, and has a nack for fighting against the odds, and has done so on countless occasions in League Two, after encountering the struggles of admin, and an empty transfer kitty. However one could hardly say he''s got the club to punch above it''s weight, regularly competing in the same League, and with strong Norwich connections, it would seem unlikely that he is ''the'' number one candidate.Doesn''t fit much of the criteria, would seem unlikely.Possibility rating? 3/10*****Candidate no.3 ~ Darren Ferguson ~Needless to say it would prove to be one hell of an acquisition if the Norwich boad managed to tempt this individual away from Peterborough. Is achieving great things at the club, and has got it punching way above its weight. And with a long term contract recently (ish) signed with the club, it''d be a struggle to see this one to come to fruition. However McNally has a good reputation for tempting managers, and apart from finances, you''d assume theres no other department in which Norwich City could disappoint, and fall short on a promise.Truth be told though, despite fitting the criteria well, no ones holding their breath on this one.A lot of Norwich City''s pulling power would have to be used here.Possibility rating? 3.5/10*****Candidate no.4 ~ Chris Coleman ~If Ferguson would prove hard to tempt away from Peterborough, you could only assume Chris would present just as many, if not more difficulties in an attempt to bring him to the club. He seems settled at Coventry, and while not performing outstandingly, all seem happy with the professional job he''s doing there. If he were to be tempted away, one could only assume it would depend on the relationship him and McNally had at Fulham. However it has been ''mentioned'' that they didn''t get on with one another, in which case you''d reckon theres ''zilch'' possibility of an appointment here.Fits into the criteria fairly well, but it''s a struggle to see his one happening.Possibility rating? 2/10*****Candidate no.5 ~ Nigel Pearson ~The Leicester manager seems to be doing a solid job at the club after promoting the side comfortably from the 3rd tier at the first time of asking. Didn''t do particularly well at the sinking ship of the south coast at Southampton, but Foxes fans aren''t complaining.Very much on the up at the club he''s at, and you''d assume only Premier League attention could tempt him away from the Walkers.Again, fits into the criteria fairly well, but i don''t think anyone will give this one a second thought.Possibility rating? 1/10*****Candidate no.6 ~ Steve Tilson ~Has emphasised being happy at his club Southend, but hasn''t outright ruled out other possibilites as the media may state. Has had a very successful time at his current club, and seems determined to take them a few steps further up the league with a new stadium on the way though.Linked to Norwich as often as we have fired our managers in the past 4 years, but a move finally come about on this occasion would seem unlikely, with everyone at the Essex club fiercely determined to hold on to the manager.Doesn''t quite fit into the criteria to a sufficient standard, and being an experienced manager in this league, at a club most probably punching at it''s own weight in the same league as us, it''s unlikely that he''s the number one target here.Possibility rating? 2/10*****Candidate no.7 ~ Paul Lambert ~The man responsible for much harrowing and sorrow at Carrow Road, and the job of the ''ever so kind'' Bryan Gunn. Probably not a popular figure in most Norfolk at the moment, he has shown himself to of been quite an astute manager at this level, but prising him away from Essex would be a tough job, and one many would most probably say we need not endure.Doesn''t fit the criteria particularly well, and again seems an unlikely candidate.Possibility rating? 2/10*****Anything you don''t agree with, or would like to add on to that? (I wouldn''t put it past you lot [;)])

Good work John. Well constructed and reasoned. I''m not entirely sure he has to be from a higher club than ours in the league though, but otherwise your logic is impeccable.
You know ''possible rating''. Is that, how likely we are to getting them, or how good they are?
It''s based on the ''likelihood'' of it happening (in my opinion) Norwich [Y]
