NCFCnutty 1 Posted August 9, 2009 If Gunn did get the sack who would be a good replacement. The usual names come up of Boothroyd & Tilson. The name Ricky Sbragia came up in one post about managers who had walked away in the best interests of the club. Which got me thinking would he be able to do a job at Norwich in League 1? I think the Sunderland players liked him and he seemed to be able to motivate them and have a bit of tactical knowledge. What do others think about Ricky Sbragia as our Manager? Not sure what he is up to at the moment.
Lambo 0 Posted August 9, 2009 Sbragia''s Sunderland record is very questionable and i''d avoid him, Gunn has a better record than his at Sunderland.I''d say Ian Dowie is worth a punt.
StevoM 0 Posted August 9, 2009 Glenn Roader? Certainly better than Gunn. Don''t know why we are speculating we all know hes not going to go.

Hamster 0 Posted August 9, 2009 If Gunn got the sack Delia & MWJ would appoint Butterworth & Crook
Rob 0 Posted August 9, 2009 AIDI BOOTHROYD is the answer. The only other serious alternative, Aage Hareide, got himself a job in Sweden. And Aidi would still be the best all in all. That MY opinion!

0 0 Posted August 9, 2009 boothroyd would have us playing hoofball. i like the brentford and exeter mangers andy scott and paul tisdale.
motley7 0 Posted August 9, 2009 I''d rather hoofball than seeing a display like yesterdays. Gunn spent the summer recruiting 6 footers, then had the back four pass the ball amongst themselves along the deck on the few occasions when colchester let us have the ball. Boothroyd would at least play to our strengths and while it might not get the best out of our one player who can actually play- Hoolahan- the rest of the team might not look so woefull. Please give me hoofball. it''s surely preferable to drifting further down the leagues...
NCFC_Thain 0 Posted August 9, 2009
Steve Tison for me.
A view on Steve Tilson by a Southend Fan"The legends that are Tilson and Brush: my viewTactics:Basically its 4-4-2 and any player any position, his tactical awarenessis about as good as a blind cat. Tactics are not his strong point, itsmotivation of players, if he had tactical nous he would have been aPremier division manager a few years ago.Style of play: Itsusually great we always try and get it down, pass and move and its beenthe same from day 1 with Tilson and Brush. The only time it goes wrongis when he plays a ''target man'' up front, then we tend to hoof it morethan pass.Aims of the club: No idea what they are but we''llexceed all expectations with the current managerial duo, as I saidmotivation is the strength.Budget: Our budget this season was acouple of breath mints and an umbrella so the fact we''ve managed toloan 4 players is beyond our wildest dreams.Currently themanagement are working with nothing and still doing a very decent job -a plea from everyone at Southend would be - Please don''t leave whenNorwich get rid of Gunn."
