Canary_on_the Trent 0 Posted August 12, 2009 Rio Ferdinand doesn''t seem too interested in the game, how can one of the 1 worlds best defenders make such a basic error?

E I E I E I O 0 Posted August 12, 2009 The overpaid tossers could not give a shit about the game, Ferdinand is a player that is brilliant when giving a 110% and concentrating fully. Tonight he could not give a crap and the fact he is as thick as F*** is shining through.Game looks a waste of time, the 2 goals have come from players not giving a crap and just looking not interested. Chelmsford Canary 0 Posted August 12, 2009 Although I love watching it - too similar to NCFC tonight.Whats more embarrasing - these boys play champions league football, and get paid £millions a year!!

E I E I E I O 0 Posted August 12, 2009 You cannot judge England tonight anyway because we are not the same without Gerrard, him and Rooney together are a real pain in the arse! The pair take us from a decent side to a world class side. It is a shame that Gerrard has missed the Spain and Holland games as then we could have seen how much we had progressed.Unfortunately ferdinand forgot to bring his minimal brain to the game also! Houston Canary 0 Posted August 12, 2009 Robert Green is in goal!??! Excellent for him! Come on England! In about 10 minutes, US kicks off at Mexico. We have never won there but have dominated them at home since 1999 even though home match crowds are generally 85% Mexicans. This is a qualifier, but NO match vs Mexico is ever a friendly in the truest sense. Lots of animosity both ways.
Scooby 0 Posted August 12, 2009 It''s just like watching us against Col U, but with a keeper.

Wembley_Canary 0 Posted August 12, 2009 Overall I thought it ws a good performance from England with the exception of a couple of shocking mistakes from players who should know better. It looks as if alot of people on here spoke to soon by spouting the usual "players don''t care nonesense" considering we looked the more likely team to win the game in the end and showed good character to come back from 2-0 down. Well played England.
Nexus_Canary 1,016 Posted August 12, 2009 Well we were chanting "I think im at Carrow Road"after the second defensive blunder, someone dared blame Green until the half time replays showed it was Rio and Barry Chuckle.Good second half performance when Holt *cough* Cole *cough* muscled about and DeFoe *cough* Cody Mac *cough* chased around... unfortunatly no one near as good crossing as Milner but ho hum !Good result considering the first halfs mediocracy

[/quote]Yes I was happy to see Green in the starting 11 tonight but it''s still the same old story with Green from his Norwich days, the guy is awful with the ball at his feet, as good a shot stopper as Green is, he simply shouldn''t be playing at this level when his kicking is as bad as his is. Nexus_Canary 1,016 Posted August 12, 2009 Green is one of the only goal keepers (probs on record ?!) where you fancy him more than the striker in a penalty situation !He had a good one tonight i thought, let down by Ferdinand and Barry although if you watched he blocked all the shots and if Babbel had been onside he had that one as well ! Canaries Utd 0 Posted August 12, 2009 Just back from the pub, a really enjoyable friendly (except two really slack peices of play)! There are a few people slagging England off when we were 2 - 0 down, but..............Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... not so vocal at the final whistle!Well done England, a good result, friendly or not. PurpleCanary 5,554 Posted August 12, 2009 Well, according to The Times, which used to be a good newspaper a long time ago:Holland 2 England 2: how the match unfoldedPlucky England have just drawn with one-third of Lincolnshire. Is that good?
Jonzey 0 Posted August 13, 2009 England were all over them for most of the match, they had all the best chances. Just two shocking pre season style defensive errors cost them.A 2-2 draw against a thoroughly in form, 4th best team in the world is pretty impressive. HappyhammerAndy 0 Posted August 13, 2009 Thought that this was a great performance by England, we slaughtered them at their place. Normally, I think that these friendlies are a waste of time but this time it was of alot of use.An excellent result at a World Class team''s backyard. England proved that they do have the ability to come from two nil down, something that they couldn''t have done, pre Capello. It gave Senior Professionals, Ferdinand and Barry a kick up the behind and capello probably gave them rollicking, even though he played the diplomat card after the game. Hopefully, other team players will learn that it is not acceptable and they should concentrate for the whole game and not switch off for parts of it. Better that it happens now than in a game that matters. Green is not an England goalkeeper, Capello should have learnt that again in the match. Again, he was thoughly nervous throughout and his demeanour offered nothing positive to the team. He''s one of the best shot stoppers in the country, maybe the best, but he can''t make a decision to come and get the high ball. He is weak at this level with crosses. As someone that sees him each week at home, the difference is massive. Carlton Cole was a revelation. Two years ago he was the fifth striker at West Ham. I''ve always wanted him out and still felt the same up until last night. Zola has worked on a one to one basis with him and he looked a different player last night, something which his Manager said he would be. Another lesson learnt.Any doubts that Defoe could hack it at this level against bigger teams might have been eroded last night. He could go infront of Owen on last night''s showing. I can''t stand the ---- but he has made a case for himself to get to the World Cup. Does he go with a small and quick player to play with Rooney or persist with a target man?Capello learnt, if he needed to, that England are a far more potent force when Gerrard plays. Lampard was never able to dominate the midfield loke the Scouser does. Capello likes Johnson, I don''t. He should have learnt that he enjoys getting forward but he''s rubbish at defending. He''s a flash ---- who is overated. Wes Brown is our man, he can defend. If Ferguson chooses him for Man Utd, that''s good enough for me.Will it confirm that he needs pace on the right rather than Beckham who is now static and slows the game down? Enter right, Mr. Walcott.Proof, if he needed it, that the England fans will follow the team anywhere and they will be in S. Africa in force.Andy.
