Arthur Whittle 0 Posted August 7, 2009 Afraid we will have to get used to that for at least 1 season. Could get worse if Colchester and Southend are above us we will then be the 5th choice!!!!!

Leedscanary 318 Posted August 7, 2009 It''ll be alright in a couple of months, we''ll be riding high promotion favourites - posh''ll be relegation fodder and the binners''ll be languishing just below mid table. Then we''ll be first news item!Until Roy chucks his toys outta the pram [:P]

Canary Wundaboy 1,349 Posted August 8, 2009 And to think, we had all managed to push the unpleasant realisation of relegation to the back of our minds....
ca 1 Posted August 8, 2009 It was even worse on Look East we got about 10 secs whereas MK Dons and Ipswich got ages.
ref89 0 Posted August 8, 2009 They are local and bigger teams because they are a league higher. What do you expect???
Camuldonum 0 Posted August 8, 2009 Still not helped by the cutting of the local "segments" as the telly boys and girls say.

Last night classic example in the Boro v Sheff Utd game. They had 23,500 attendance for what is supposed to be a match between two "big" clubs. The commentator said how impressive this was and that it demonstrated the loyalty of fans in the North East. We will get 25,500 for Colchester Utd today, a full division below and despite rumours that Col U returned a fair number of tickets which our fans have snapped up. And it probably won''t get a mention. Would love to see how 18500 season ticket holders compare with other clubs as well

greenbird 0 Posted August 8, 2009 The reason Ipswich gets much more coverage than Norwich is because most of the presenters live in Suffolk !!!!
Clean Shirt 0 Posted August 8, 2009 I can understand why we get less coverage in the national press. On the Local TV tho just because we have been relegated doesnt mean we have less fans. It seems crazy because im sure there are a lot more people that want to hear about Norwich than they do Peterborough (no Disrespect). Both broadcasts are filmed in Norwich for goodness sake. Have some local pride

Camuldonum 0 Posted August 8, 2009 It''s because the evening news bulletin had an "East and West" edition - now it is merged into one. That''s why you are hearing about MK Dons.
Devils Advocate. 0 Posted August 8, 2009 I get the feeling that it won''t be too long before Anglia News goes the same way as the Pink ''Un has gone and the Evening News will go, ie extinction. ITV has already tried to drop regional news coverage arguing that as it isn''t funded by the Public, they have no need to satisfy a Public service remit. I feel that the programme is over staffed , does it really need two presenters and a weather forecaster? . It would be interesting to know how many viewers are interested in stories about bird sown exotic plants as an example and how many more viewers would prefer a more comprehensive Football coverage, at least at weekends. Maybe the fact that the BBC now has the rights to the Football league, means that ITV couldn''t really care less about Football, unless it is the over rated Champions League. If ITV drops its Regional news programmes, they could put another edition of Emmerdale or Coronation Street on and really attract the viewers.
