Ian Crook''s comments after the game where something alomg the lines of "tonight was another step up and we got some answers about some of the trialists". Givn that none of them were at Thetford tonight probably gives us the answer?
Binky 0 Posted July 29, 2009 Fakenham 0, Norwich City XI 6Norwich City may just haveunearthed a much-needed gem or two - thanks to City reserve team bossIan Crook and his old pal Micky Hazard, the former Tottenham midfielder.Itwas Hazard who helped three youngsters, all released by Premier LeagueSpurs this summer, to get trials with the Canaries, and they explodedon to the scene at Clipbush Park last night. While all eyes wereon old boy Paul McVeigh and summer signing Matt Gill, it was hard totake your eyes off two-goal Troy Powell and Nick Chrysanthou - while athird Spurs lad, Takura Mtandari, and young Aussie Max Joarder, who wasalso on the scoresheet, were more than just supporting acts.“Ihad a call from Micky Hazzard and he said to me there''s some boys fromSpurs who have been released for various reasons,” said Crook. “One(Chrysanthou) had broken his leg twice, and he said, ''do you want alook?'' Spurs have always produced good boys and I spoke to Clive Allenand he said they have some good boys there. I thought all three of themdid well. “The big man up front (Powell) has pace, he''sawkward but at the end of the day he scored two goals and set up two.The full back was solid and Nick is a real passer of the ball.”
