Brentford away

Recommended Posts

The station (Brentford) is very close, no more than a 10 minute walk from the ground. Trains leave Brentford for London Waterloo at 21:54, 22:09 and 22:24 taking 32 minutes. Then you need the tube to Liverpool St. The Waterloo & City line will be shut by then, so take Northern Line up to Tottenham Court Road then the Central Line from there. Alternatively (if the 23:30 from Liverpool St. stops at Stratford), thake the Jubilee line direct to Stratford from Waterloo. The last train from London Liverpool St. to Norwich is 23:30.

It''s actually a cracking ground to go to...I went there 2 or 3 times last yearFor anyone that hasn''t been its a real old-fashioned football ground with four separate stands of similar size crammed into the streets of Brentford. Both the side stands are all seated, the ends are terraced (although there is a small seated section in a tiny upper tier in the away end). The ''hardcore'' fans sit the other end to the away ends (Barclay to the River end) which is the only downside cause you can''t really make out what they''re saying.Other then that, you can make some real noise packed in behind the goal and like many know theres a pub on each corner (though theyre obviously packed pre-game) and a decent chippy too, though its located right opposite a not-so decent housing area.Well worth a visit though and they''re be plenty worse grounds this year with a few better (depending on people''s view of modern stadiums like southamptons).

Annoyingly I have to sit in the home end for this one as promised my Brentford supporting mate.

Hope we give them a right tonking, will not be shy in celebrating!

Well a student ticket is 12 quid but you have to have a NUS card. But the legendary guy in the ticket office just gave us adult tickets charged at student rates because student cards run out in July!
