Burnley want Russell

Recommended Posts

The article says:
The Mile End-born midfielder is in the last year of his contract, and

the Clarets would be unlikely to offer more than £500,000 in total,

bearing in mind teammate Sammy Clingan, three years younger, is set to

sign for Coventry for £650,000.
£100,000 would do me!

However, the Clarets'' initial valuation was below the Canaries'' asking price for the 28-year-old.

What are Burnley playing at? Have they got no money? Have their Directors been lying to their fans? They will just end up with the left-overs come the start of the season.

Who cares !!!!Just get rid of him ... anything around 100k will do fine. Adeyemi is a far better prospect and pushing for a first team place ahead of Russell anyway.

[/quote]I believe they got where they are with a ''prudence & ambition'' philosophy to purchasing players !Just cos Burnley have gained extra for being in the Premiership it doesn''t mean they''ll pay over the odds for a player they may not rate for the transfer fee thats being asked.

Squad filling, and they don''t have too much money to play with as they''ve decided not to rip their fans off with inflated ticket prices.

May be they''re looking for an impact player from the bench. Someone they can send on when they want to pick up a red card?

Coyle is no mug.Fact is, Russell did well under Pullis at Stoke in their promotion building team where he rarely missed a match.Russell is another case like Cureton, and it occurs all too often at this club where players regularly turn to cr*p.

Whoop Whoop!! £500k! I''d bite there bloody arm off, add that to the £650k from Clingon and we could buy ourselves a nice little striker.

Maybe the relaxed lifestyle in Norwich drags these former players into a lull??!!! They come back, from being in promotion winning teams and winning the golden boot, seemingly thinking, "Oh good. I can chill now!!"Although, I do believe Jamie really wanted to do well for us.Why is it though, that when a former player comes back to play against his old club....he scores...or has a blinder??? These are both circumstances that regularly occur in football, it''s all psychological I reckon!

I cannot believe Russell would be anything other than a permanent reserve player unless they are really unlucky with injuries. But if he''s getting off our wage bill, it''s a bonus.  Plus it brings in the fact that the team who sells Russell goes on to get promotion the same season.

I''ll piggy-back him to Turf Moor if it helps get shot of him for half a mill!

So, £500k for Russell and £650k for Clingan.

I make that £1.15m.

MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmm!!!!

Wonder how much of THAT will go on players!!!!!!!

Might see £400k. If we''re lucky! Board will wangle their way into banking

the rest for something else! You see!

OTBC!

I''m not his biggest fan but not that long ago we played Chelsea in the FA Cup at carrow road 0-0 it ended Cudicini kept them in it and Russell was awesome but if i remember he did get sent off later on a player i think plays better with better players if that makes sense I would take 300k for him now

I have to agree he is never a premier league player and Burnley may well live to regret this signing. But we will be laughing.

Especially now we have Hughes.

Do they want to relegated? Seriously, Coyle isn''t an idiot, but what does he see in him? Some of us said the same about Etuhu and he isn''t doing so bad, hwoever.

And you have a go at me for my spelling and grammar? Anyways would be happy to receive any money for Russell, he''s poor. Can''t believe Roeder rejected 600k for him last summer [:O]
